Let's here it for outsourcing
http://msnbc.msn.com/id/7936464/site/newsweek/

In short, another big wave of outsourcing should hit in a few years. America's middle class will continue to exist but may be damaged. The jobs being send overseas this time will be the following: lawyers, more IT, accountants, risk management, radiologists, and others.

So much for the working class putting themselves through college for a middle class lifestyle.

1. My generation is the first to suffer the death of the American Dream.
It's morbid to think about, but it really is true.

2. How can lawyers be outsourced?
You have to be licensed in the state that the lawsuit is being tried.

5. Seems like CEOs are really expensive, we should be able to
find someone overseas willing to do the job for 1/10th the cost...

6. Outsourcing.......

A company here in Peoria called L.R. Neilson just announced 100 people will get laid off forever. Their jobs are going to china, that will make it 85% of their work done in china.

It's a sprinkler company, they make sprinklers to water your lawn. Hell they only pay about $6 or $7 an hour to work here now. But most of their work is done in china for $2 an hour or whatever they make there.

So 100 Americans just lost their crappy jobs to someone in china so the company can increase profits even more. They will make it in china then ship it back to America and expect us to buy it, we should just stop buying products from companies that do this.

8. True
I tried to buy only from American made companies but it's too hard to find anything. "Made in USA" has gone extinct and we may get sightings here and there but that is all.

9. Offshoring.
It's happening all the time and getting worse & worse. It'll take legislation (for instance, a tax on offshorers) to stop it. If offshoring isn't stopped, I think we won't have a middle class in America any more.

10. You wouldn't think they'd be able to outsource something like accounting
but there are people in foreign countries who have passed the CPA Exam.
Publishing has been hit really hard too.

I am in IT and I had a job interview a few weeks ago at a company which had outsourced their whole help desk to India- well, except they still needed a few people onsite to deal with the physical realities of the computer, cabling, and network. I don't want to get a call from India asking me to check if the network cable is plugged in or not...

12. I had a temp job at Dell
For 7 months (temps are cheaper than permanent but not as cheap as India) and I always hear "Thank God you're an American".
