That's meant to be a nuetral statement but perhaps there's a bit of bias in there.

But it's a serious question. I posted I dont know how many times last night against the sellout. But the fact is, the story has it's own legs, and the story is We Won, They Lost. So, when we all go out into the world again do we join Will Pitt and MoveOn and Dean and say,"Whoo Hoo we won?" A little more like you mean it, please.

Personally, if I walked into a man on the street, or decide to post at the local paper's online forum, I think I'm going to have to buy into the party line, even though I think it wrong. At the very least, if I take that position on-line, it will be an inresting experiment in watching some of the local Freepers get all in a lather.

But at Thursday night's Dem meeting? We were rolled. I think that, internally, we can't let up on this. We've lowered the bar and, according to McCain, gained nothing. We do not have the priviledge of fillibuster for judicial nominees anymore. He's one of seven who think that. Frist only needs one more and the deal is meaningless in terms of keeping the freaks off the bench.

1. The "Party Line" stinks to high heaven.
The "We Won", "Victory", is easily countered by the 3 judges that will now infest the judiciary, and the Nuke option that's still intact.

If the Dems want to delude themselves into believing the "party line" while the people suffer the consequences of their clever politicking, let them have at it.

As for me, I'm on a strict diet. No bullshit, no phony "compromises".
