As with the Navajo, the God of the Arabs must be REPLACED
these brown people in the middle east would save themselves a lot of grief by simply rejecting Allah and accept Jesus OR THEY CAN ALL FUCKING DIE! their god is a false god, a violent and hateful god, and all muslims will soon reject him and accept the smiling, well coiffed jesus. then, everything will be alright, prophecy fulfilled, and peace will guide the planet and love will fill the stars.

millions ACTUALLY believe this, i know, my mom is one of them.

5. Considering our obsession with Jesus and Allah and everything else,
it would stand to reason to think of us as a mentally ill nation.

6. There is one problem
Which has been debated for centuries and neither camp wants to admit it, but it is the God of Abraham. And that is always the term which is used as well, so whether you go to Isaac or Ishmael is irrelevant. Abraham loved both sons and taught them monotheism.

So the view on that God are different, but it is the same God. So how can you replace the same with the same?

7. From a gnostic point of view
the god of Abraham was one of the fallen angels. So from the beginning, Abraham picked the wrong path and it's been hell on earth every since.

13. Even the Bible says Jehovah was "one" of the Elohim
Edited on Wed May-25-05 07:53 AM by SpiralHawk
He's just the one who came out on top. It's right there in Genisis.

So, what's the deal with Chritians claiming to be monotheists, ignoring the Elohim angle, and then putting forth the idea of 3 (count 'em), 3 gods in one. Confuses me.

And while we are on the subject, if Adam and Eve had only two male children (Cain and Abel), then who did they marry and have children with? According to the Bible there would only have been 4 people on earth at that time (Adam, Eve, Cain and Abel).

I don't get it. Give me plain old undifferentiated Spirit. Please.

PS - I was just out on the Navajo reservation in Haystack, NM for the Mountain Spirit Ceremony a week ago. Their spiritual traditions still live (and thier ceremonies work).

8. Is she aware that "Allah" is just "God" in Arabic?
There isn't a "your God" or "my God"...

I know you know this, it just never ceases to amaze me -- the level of ignorance out there.

12. It's got nothing to do with God.
Regardless of what certain genocidal lunatics may claim, I don't believe God has spoken to anyone personally for a good long while, if ever. Unfortunately, all the attitudes you speak of have come from other human beings.

If I'm to understand it correctly, "pretending to speak for God" is a pretty heinous crime across Christianity, Judaism and Islam. In which case, it could be argued that every preacher or religious leader had better pack their holy Bermuda shorts for the afterlife, 'cos it's gonna be a little warm.
