Someone should send this congressman the Downing St. memo!
"If we were given misinformation intentionally by people in this administration,
to commit the authority to send boys, and in some instances girls, to go
into Iraq, that is wrong," he told the newspaper.

"Congress must be told the truth."

Send it to: Walter Jones, the Republican congressman for North Carolina

1. kick! Send it, and ask him to impeach Bush.

Here's a link to the British memo proving Bush knew there were no WMD, and lied <"fixed the facts and intelligence" to lead us into a war on false pretexts. Please forward it to this to your Congressman: [br />
THE SECRET MEMO FROM 10 DOWNING STREET:
http://www.timesonline.co.uk/article/0,,2087-1593607,00.html

Also send him this: Paul Craig Roberts, a former Reagan cabinet official and conservative columnist/editor, has called for Bush's impeachment on just those grounds:

A REPUTATION IN TATTERS
Chronicles Magazine (5/18/05) – George W. Bush and his gang of neocon warmongers have destroyed America’s reputation. It is likely to stay destroyed, because at this point the only way to restore America’s reputation would be to impeach and convict President Bush for intentionally deceiving Congress and the American people in order to start a war of aggression against a country that posed no threat to the United States.
America can redeem itself only by holding Bush accountable.
As intent as Republicans were to impeach President Bill Clinton for lying about a sexual affair, they have a blind eye for President Bush’s far more serious lies. Bush’s lies have caused the deaths of tens of thousands of people, injured and maimed tens of thousands more, devastated a country, destroyed America’s reputation, caused 1 billion Muslims to hate America, ruined our alliances with Europe, created a police state at home, and squandered $300 billion dollars and counting. . .

And this, from a BBC reporter:

BBC journalist Greg Palast wrote a blistering article on May 5th titled “IMPEACHMENT TIME: FACTS WERE FIXED.” In it, he concluded:
Here it is. The smoking gun. The memo that has "IMPEACH HIM" written all over it.

The top-level government memo marked "SECRET AND STRICTLY PERSONAL," dated eight months before Bush sent us into Iraq, following a closed meeting with the President, reads, "Military action was now seen as inevitable. Bush wanted to remove Saddam through military action justified by the conjunction of terrorism and WMD. But the intelligence and facts were being fixed around the policy."

Read that again: "The intelligence and facts were being fixed...."
For years, after each damning report on BBC TV, viewers inevitably ask me, "Isn't this grounds for impeachment?" -- vote rigging, a blind eye to terror and the bin Ladens before 9-11, and so on. Evil, stupidity and self-dealing are shameful but not impeachable. What's needed is a "high crime or misdemeanor."
And if this ain't it, nothing is.

The memo uncovered this week by the Times, goes on to describe an elaborate plan by George Bush and British Prime Minister Tony Blair to hoodwink the planet into supporting an attack on Iraq knowing full well the evidence for war was a phony.
A conspiracy to commit serial fraud is, under federal law, racketeering. However, the Mob's schemes never cost so many lives. . .

(full article: http://www.gregpalast.com/detail.cfm?artid=426&row=0 )

Palast has nailed it. It’s time for Americans to insist that Congressional representatives quit burying their heads in the sand. We must demand that Republicans and Democrats in Congress open their eyes to the truth . It is time to hold this President accountable for the lies that he has told, the laws that he has broken, and the lives that he has destroyed.

Republicans need to show their constituents that they have integrity and consistency. If you voted to impeach Clinton for lying about sex, you need to impeach and convict Bush for lying to start a war that the public and Congress would otherwise never have accepted.
