Poll question: Which TV news do you watch more?
Just curious.

What do you watch and how accurate do you think the news you get is?

3. Daily Show requires full cable subscription.
Lots of people here, like me, have shut it down to just the basic level.

Stewart? KO and Lou Dobbs are the only ones worth watching other than comedy central and cooking channel, but you asked for news so guess that's it.

12. Still, given all that, I bet Jon Stewart The Daily Show would rank high
Also, you can get most of the show on comedycentral.com.

24. Daily Show is great, but......
....I think there's only been a total of maybe 3 or 4 weeks this year when it wasn't a fucking re-run. What's up with that anyway? Is Jon hanging out in the loony bin with Dave Chapelle?

5. I voted MSNBC, but only because that's where Keith Olberman is.
I sure don't count on anybody else on there to give me the news.

I also TiVo Jim Lehrer every night to watch when I get home.

14. I agree
However, they would have to increase the budget and Comedy Central is owned by Viacom. It is not in their best corporate interest.

10. Watching a little of many newscasts, CNN, FAUX, MSNBC, CSPAN, it's all
made up shit, from start to finish, so highly modified, confabulated and produced, it might as well be a movie. It's like a synthesized voice, totally engineered, not true to human standards. It's all just Circus Circus, for no reason than to keep the masses distracted, while the fascists sell out our country. I learned on CSPAN the other day that under the Shrub lack of administration, America's debt to other nations is increasing at an alarming rate. The economists were saying how detrimental it is to our economy, to have so much foreign interest in the ownership of America, and so much foreign debt in our deficit. Pretty soon, Osama can just foreclose all our mortgages and take over our houses without bothering to use terrorism. Shrub is actually selling us out. 21000 repetitions on FAUX News make a truth, this is a well known fact. CSPAN is your best bet for unpolluted truth in television newscasting, and even there, you will sometimes spot a media whore.

19. BBC World News, when I watch television news.
I'd say it's probably a better and more balanced picture than that presented by mainstream US media.

But for the most part I get my news online; most of my primary news sources are outside the US (the Guardian is usually the first news site I check). I suppose I've given up on most US news media.

Edited on Thu May-26-05 01:32 AM by booley
except that they are a FAKE NEWS show.

They bill themselves as a FAKE NEWS show

admittedly. most of the MSM nowadays is fake news as well. But they aren't supposed to be. The daily show is.

maybe on the next poll.

30. BBC, CBC, Amy and DU
BBC and CBC news off the Internet. We Tivo Democracy Now, which our local cable system carries each morning at 5 AM, to watch over breakfast. I skim LBN on DU at breakfast and before bedtime.

I have given up on any US corporate media and haven't watched corporate TV since Nov. 3rd. They're worse than useless--they're a damaging source of disinformation and corporate cheerleading. Millions are literally wasting their lives watching corporate media.

Also, because one of us speaks French we sometimes watch Radio Canada's TV news programming on the Internet.

31. I do ocasionally tune in the Corpoganda stations,
but I ALREADY know the REAL NEWS of the day from InterNet sources. When I tune in the CorpoMedia, it is out of morbid curiosity to view how twisted (and coordinated) the propaganda dissemination is in America.
