2. Once I saw Option C, I could no longer even consider the first two
options (even though Option B still makes me puke)!

4. They can marry or divorce whoever they want
I think people that use it as a political tool damage it the most. Where is all the gay-marriage talk now? Nowhere because it is not an election year.

6. Other: there is no sanctity of marriage. It is simply an arrangement
between two adults.

7. and the only one with the power to "sanctify" or ratify it
is the state. stop making it a religion thing. and if you have to remember the verse that so many weddings quote. "Whenever two or more of you are gathered in my name there is love" it says nothing about the gender of two or more of you.

10. My uncle Bud..........
and his wife Duckie (our loving nickname for her) are in the process of a divorce right now, so they can save their house. He's a vet, but they don't cover everything, and the medical bills are crazy. The only way for him to get care, and not lose their house, is to divorce. Great, huh?

11. Do they see through the wingnut marriage rhetoric?
God, I hope so.

Also, just goes to show that love is what matters not the piece of paper.

13. They understand......
and it makes them angry. They are the first couple within my family to divorce. (Super conservative family)The divorce will be finalized shortly, they would've been married 32 years in Oct. Bud was a hard worker all his life, and a vet. I assure you this is not how he envisioned his life ending. He feels betrayed and I don't blame him at all.

12. Where did the expression "sanctity of marriage" come from? How
about sanctity of health, of child-rearing, of being kind to one another? Seems like there is too much sanctimony of heterosexuals these days toward marriage.

14. Under "Other". I'd have to go with
Tanya Tucker and all her Republican love children.
(I thought about Naomi Judd's, but I kinda like Ashley..)
