3. take 'em down. I don't care who it is
in this case three dems and one republican.

Especially when a so called "democrat" is behaving like a republican. . . .we can't afford to have them in the political leadership.

4. I'm torn on it too. But we need citizens to set-up "Sex Stings"
Every very attractive man and woman should be out there trying to entrap the far-right puritanical anti-gay "pro-family" assholes in sexually compromising situations.

I don't mean collecting stains on blue dresses.

I mean videotaping them with their pants down on your couch watching porn.

Or (where allowed by law) videotaped cruising in gay bars, recorded making passes, etc. Wouldn't it be great if someone struck-up a conversation with Rick Santorum in an airport lounge and got him to talk about his "bisexual curiosity" or willingness to cheat on his wife with an attractive woman at a hotel bar?

How hard could it possibly be for some hunk to seduce that ugly broad from Concerned Women for America?

Come on, if you've "got it goin' on," then use it!

I'm not saying "take one for the team," but you can at least force them to receive a penalty.

5. Is there a reason they only seemed to go after Democrats?
The lawmakers arrested today are Sen. Ward Crutchfield, D-Chattanooga; Sen. John Ford, D-Memphis; Sen. Kathryn Bowers, D-Memphis; and Rep. Chris Newton, R-Cleveland. The former lawmaker is Sen. Roscoe Dixon, a Memphis Democrat who stepped down in January.

7. I think there was one republican from Georgia
 I don't know why either. I just thought it was fishy how the FBI created this fake company.

6. In the 80s in California they did this same thing to top republicans in
State assembly. They entrapped them just like this - only with a fake shrimp company. What I didn't like about that or the story posted here is that is sounds like they are taking money and putting it in their personal bank account - they are not . They are putting it into thier campaign contributions which every politian in this world does. They accept and solicite contributions every day, they have fundraisers doing the same thing. Someone says to one of their fundraisers 'Hey, here's $50k, can I have his ear for 10 minutes' the fundraiser says yes, sets up the meeting, they have a meeting and the legislator agrees with the lobbyist (in this case the FBI) and boom, Jail time.

I don't like it - I say it's entrapment

8. I think so too
And all the while Tom DeLay, the biggest crook of them all in the Congress, is still out there and hasn't had his justice yet. I just think this story has a weird feeling to it.

9. I agree with you. Seems very fishy
I mean, who knows how the FBI presented it, or what was said.

For all we know, it could have just been a campaign contribution.

11. I guess Love's position on the school board will be vacant soon.
I see that he introduced the E-cycle representatives to Crutchfield and acted as the go between. Not that I am trying to excuse Crutchfield's or the others' involvement, I just never really trusted Charles Love.

13. I'm not trying to imply that it's not fishy or that this is on the up and
up because I don't know much more about it than what I've seen in print which doesn't give a lot of detail as to why they were the target of a sting and I'll bet that's where this will get interesting.

For the past few years it seems there's a new allegation of Love having financial difficulties (bouncing checks, unpaid taxes, outstanding payments, questions about campaign funds). Maybe I'm just old but when this is frequently coming up about any politician I become a little suspicious. Perhaps this is what drew someone's attention to him to initiate this to begin with?
