"I believe the United States of America has a war addiction" Please read
Edited on Thu May-26-05 06:17 PM by Bluzmann57
The above quote was made by a 13 year old young lady who attends a local middle school. A columnist in one of our local newspapers printed this letter, which was a school assignment. This young lady's mother is in the military. I was really touched by her knowledge and sincerity. Check out her "mom and dad" analogy. It is great. www.qctimes.com then click on columnists, then click on Barb Ickes. Incidentally, I think Barb is one of us, at least in spirit. She ripped into bush last summer when he was here. I am also going to email her and thank her for printing this column. Three cheers for Brittany Kyser, the author of this wonderful letter. A child shall lead them.

3. I liked it too ... if she's writing like that at age 13 ...
... I think we can look forward to someone who'll be able to fill the shoes of Bill Moyers, Paul Krugman (once he retires), etc.!

To expand on her analogy a bit more -- I think that the current administration is a bit more like a whacked-out incompetent babysitter than the REAL Mom. (Because most moms actually manage to clean things up and calm people down, even if they do get ignored a lot of the time ...)

And "grandma" would be the US taxpayers, who end up saddling the costs of this war, when they could be enjoying life.
