2. I don't think it could be kept secret. He might brow-beat his staff into
silence, but the families of soldiers killed is another story. Remember, not all families are glad to have their sons die for the "glorius cause," and have complained loudly about Bush. They would not be quiet about a visit from him.

Remember, this is the guy who has given his staff orders not to bother him with bad news. Families of dead soldiers would definitely qualify as bad news.
