Update from Miss Waverly

Just a note of thanks to all at DU that have given to Andy. It was clear to me while Andy was staying with me that he needed the surgery
and that he needed it ASAP. Last Tuesday, after the surgery, Andy was in agony, I have never seen anyone in that much pain. Now he is
sitting up in a chair wearing his orioles cap, saying where's my phone, where's my computer. He has come light years since the surgery, now with radiation and/or chemo there's a good chance that
he will beat this thing and have a normal life. Each and every one
of you is a Life Saver. As you stand in line at the movies, and someone else snatches that parking spot you were going to take, REMEMBER, you are a life saver and that you have made a genuine miracle happen here in Baltimore, and I am not talking about the Orioles winning streak, although it's all good.

but if I could hand out electronic hugs, you would get one! Every day is another milestone, though I'm sure the greatest thing for Andy will be when he can actually wear street clothes again and walk
out the door. I have to go now, I got some chores to do before I head to Hopkins. I hope that God will bless all of you here.

I'm glad Andy is recovering so quickly from the surgery. Anyone who's had abdominal surgery knows how hard this can be. Hope the docs there have given him a nice selection of pharmacological goodies for the pain. :-)

Andy won't know anything yet until they have had a chance to find out
all about his tumor, afterwards, they will be able to tell him what
is going on and plan for his care. Thanks everyone for all the flowers and the other gifts. I have seen 4 bunches of flowers in his room, 2 are in 12 inch glass vases with irises and beautiful flowers that are blue and yellow, they kind of look like orchids, these have balloons attached, to me they look like a french impressionist painting, then there's a small bouquet of yellow flowers on his night stand and on the window sill there another bunch of flowers in red, and yellows that are in a glass mug with a campbell soup label. There is a bunny with long ears and a lavender bow tie, and a stuffed dog that looks like a terrier (????), thanks everyone for cheering Andy up.

I'm feeling all warm and fuzzy thinking about how well Andy is doing.

Such a good thing that we helped him and he helped us! We are all winners! Here's to all of us at DU. :applause:
