LONDON: Blair faces US probe over secret Iraq invasion plan
Another Democrat who signed the letter said that the affair could have repercussions on mid-term elections next year. “People are beginning to understand that those crying in the wilderness (opposing the war in Iraq) were not without rationale,” said Congressman Danny Davis of Illinois.

Democratic opponents of President George W Bush have seized on a leaked Downing Street memo, first published three weeks ago by The Sunday Times, as evidence that American lawmakers were misled about Bush’s intentions in Iraq.

A group of 89 Democrats from the House of Representatives has written to Bush to ask whether the memo is accurate.

It recounts a discussion between Tony Blair and his military and intelligence advisers about the Bush administration’s views in July 2002, three months before Congress authorised the White House to go to war with Iraq.

US administration officials tried to shrug off the letter last week. Scott McClellan, Bush’s spokesman, said the White House saw “no need” to respond to an affair that one newspaper dubbed “memogate”. Yet Democratic opponents of the war appear determined not to let the matter drop. “They (the Republicans) are trying desperately to wait it out and hope that nobody will bring this up,” Conyers said. “But this thing will not be snuffed out. ” (emphasis added)

1. Good
Give 'em hell Conyers! I'm glad he and the other democrats in Congress aren't letting this drop! Hey I was wondering. Has anybody tried any republicans? I know there were three who voted against the Real ID act who Conyers might can ask. Maybe if a bunch of us write, call, fax or whatever to them they might get on board? The people were a guy from North Carolina (can't remember his name now), James Duncan from Tennessee and Ron Paul from Texas. I've seen Mr. Paul in an Alex Jones documentary and he's so different from the rightwingers of today (in a good way!). I wonder if he can help get people on board. Maybe if more people then eighty-nine get on board they'll have the pressure to answer Mr. Conyers and can possibly have a hearing about this. Does anybody know what the British are doing with the memo where Blair is conerned? I think if one of them goes down the whole gang will. As we've seen Bush promotes liars. Those who are no longer needed after their lie-fest retire (like Powell and Ridge for example).

5. FIRE IT UP!
Fire it up! This is what we need. Bush must be held responsible for his actions. How much evidence do we need to at the very least have him answer a few questions. The evidence is damning and we should all pressure our reps to act on it. The trust between the CIC and the military is one of the most cherised ideas of our democracy. Our troops trust that their leader will not put them in harms way unless it is absolutely necessary. Bush has broken that trust in the name of revenge and greed. The # of Bush family members in Iraq says it all about Bush's priorities. Screw his idea of sacrifice. Jesus said it best in that we need to watch peoples actions to meter their true intentions.....Bush likes to say sacrifice but that is about it....I for one cringe at the idea of having even only one more soldier dead at the hands of the souless carcass we call G.W. Bush...

Pushing for impeachement is our duty as citizens as outlined by our founding fathers.....

9. I e-mailed Ron Paul
He is one of the more balanced Republicans.I basically cited the sources we have seen here, and asked him to consider supporting Conyers in this.
http://www.house.gov/paul/mail/welcome.htm is where you can write him.

11. "Democratic opponents of the war "
How about saying Democrats who don't think the President should lie to Congress and the American people.

12. Apart from everything else, it's so outrageous that the MSM
pummeled Clinton over, essentially, nothing while letting these thugs (literally) get away with MURDER.

How can this be?? Why doesn't someone NAIL the MSM bastards on it? I mean, someone high up on the ladder?? I guess Moyers did but it didn't get much play (big surprise).

But people are listening. And you can bet that the 51+ million who voted for Kerry are just as angry about these goings-on as we are.

Something's got to give.
