Republican's Orwellian Use of Language Pi$$es Me Off
For quite some time now, Republicans have been assaulting the American people with a language that is, at best, disingenuous, and at worst, down-right criminal.

They've sold tax-cuts by repeatedly parroting the phrase "It's your money". In reality, what that phrase means is; a few bucks, or nothing to middle and low income Americans, and; $275,000 to Dick Cheney. "Family Values" means "do as we say, not as we do".

But, to me the most onerous is they way they repeatedly spit out the word "Democrat". This was started by Rush Limpballs, and eventually, every single Republican politician from the pResident to the one running for the local school board had dropped the "ic" from the Democratic Party. The absolute worst was listening to a guy like Haley Barbour drawl out in his KKK trained voice the "Democrat Party". Like good little boys and girls, the Dems sat back and allowed this to happen.

I propose that from now on, when some knuckle-dragging Neanderthal in the Senate or House refers to the Democratic Party as the "Democrat" Party, some Democrat needs to stop all business and correct them. "It is the Democratic Party you ass-pickles".

Either that or we should begin, in lockstep, referring to them as the "Publican Party", or the "Nazi Party". :grr:

2. Yes! Also, let's stop referring to the right wing as "conservatives"...
There is nothing conservative about them. They are **radical right wingers**. The right wing has stolen the country, and now they're trying to steal the language.

Good call, maxrandb -- the "Democrat Party" business burns me up, too!:mad:

3. It's hugely frustrating how much people are unwilling to look
outside of the jargon the repukes put out there. One idea is for the dems to do this also but, is that just as bad as the repukes doing it? I think dems need a new strategy wherein they use language to their advantage-strong, poignant language based on fact that makes their point-no pussyfooting around damnit!!!!!!!

4. I Keep Dreaming of Some Dem in the Senate
pulling a "cousin Vinny" like in the movie.

After some Repuke just dissembled for an hour or so, just get up and say;

"Mr President, everything that guy just said is Bullshit" and then sit down.
