Impeachment Fever and Media Politics (NO IMPACT EH? )

If you think President Bush should be impeached, it’s time to get serious.

We’re facing huge obstacles -- and they have nothing to do with legal standards for impeachment. This is all about media and politics.

Five months into 2005, the movement to impeach Bush is very small. And three enormous factors weigh against it: 1) Republicans control Congress. 2) Most congressional Democrats are routinely gutless. 3) Big media outlets shun the idea that the president might really be a war criminal.

For now, we can’t end the GOP’s majority. But we could proceed to light a fire under congressional Democrats. And during the next several weeks, it’s possible to have major impacts on news media by launching a massive educational and “agitational” campaign -- spotlighting the newly leaked Downing Street Memo and explaining why its significance must be pursued as a grave constitutional issue.

It might be difficult to find support for impeachment given that impeachment and removal from office would put Cheney in office.
If one gets Cheney, too, it puts Hastert in office. No matter what scenerio, it's not a good thing. Plus, there's no way to get the House to vote for such a thing. However...

I still support CuckooBanana's impeachment even though I know that it will not succeed. It will, however, expose him to accountability for the lies, deceptions, and dissembling of his administration. It will educate the populace who will then hopefully hold the administration accountable in November, 2006.

Then, with the Dems back in power, CuckooBananas will be forced to be contrite and Constitutional. A Dem House can cut the purse strings for Gitmo, the Iraq war, or any other CuckooBanana excesses.

Regardless, I still support all efforts to impeach the bastards.
Only by revealing the truth will we ever be rid of these nazi f*cks.

But our best strategery is to use impeachment inquiry to expose the truth, moving core elements of the electorate back toward the Dems who can then take back control of the House and Senate in 2006.

Once we have Congress, we can pursue any course that seems necessary to remove all these idiots. N.B., there's also Congressional censure, and other tactics to stop the insanity.
