Documents show Bush indicted for "unlawful practice of medicine" in 1986
I remember reading a while back that Bush Jr had been in trouble with the law back in 1986 and had it covered up. Today the website radaronline.com posted four court documents that seem to confirm this - well, they confirm that a "George W. Bush Jr" was indicted and convicted. But there seems to be some question as to whether or not this is the correct "George W. Bush Jr.". Anyone have any further info on this? How many George W. Bush Jr's are there in Midland, Texas anyways? Is this really a different George W. Bush Jr or is it another Bush cover-up?

Dubya’s Double Trouble?

Since George W. Bush’s first presidential campaign, journalists have been trying to verify reports that the president was once arrested on a cocaine posession charge. Now, for the first time, court records obtained by Radar may be able to shed some light on the mystery. Filed in 1986, the same year that the president claims to have given up drinking, the documents clearly show that a George W. Bush Jr. was convicted in a Midland, Texas court on a vague “unlawful practice of medicine” charge. Only thing is, it appears to be the wrong George W. Bush. Although they were born mere months apart, lived in the same town (the president grew up in Midland), and both have blue eyes and similar builds, only one was slapped with a $2000 fine and a year’s probation. The other became leader of the free world.

1. Interesting
Never heard of this before. Bush isn't a very popular name is it? I know there's Busch but not Bush. Especially in a small town like Midland, Texas.

11. Midland ain't a small town
Bush is a popular name, and Midland ain't that small. But I still think it's him for reasons given in my other post. It should be further investigated however.

12. technically no but in texas yes he is
Many people over the years and beers have referred to him as "junior" even though his name is not precisely identical to his dad's. As a Virginian, you are probably not aware of this egregious violation of tradition, but there it is...In Texas terms, Bush is indeed a Junior. Trust me, the LEOS around here are not Miss Manners.

8. Two things concern me about that article
It is a short blurb, but it already has two obvious errors.
1.) Hatfield died in 2001, two years after the book was out.
2.) The document clearly shows it as a $2500 fine, and the article says $2000
I found these errors after looking at the article for 30 seconds. What kind of site is this? Don't they proofread anything?

18. Yeah.. their reporting skills are indeed lacking
and I saw in one of the documents that the birth-date is incorrect. I wonder if there is any way to find out whether or not this is the right Bush. Seems like if the real Bush Jr got busted, someone involved might have put a fake birthday to throw off any investigators. I'm definitely not stating this is the right Bush Jr - but I am curious.

10. did he give an illegal abortion?
I would need specifics about the "unlawful practice of medicine," because George Bush is a very common name. However, getting birthdates and other basic dates wrong was very, very, very common in police records of the 1980s. I could tell a long story about this, but it really isn't my story to tell. Suffice it to say I would tend to assume that George Bush/Midland, Texas is indeed our good friend if the race and year of birth within a couple years was the same. George W. Bush JUNIOR of Midland is fairly specific.

22. he had his girlfriends illegal abortion in 72
or one out of a possible four that we know about.

i imagine this is a creative way of pressing charges for cocaine, since some could say it could be used as a medicating oneself.

19. Looks like a fake
Why would you have two counties listed?
Midland County and Ector County?
Granted they are adjoined, but they are still separate counties which would be separate jurisdictions.

23. Any Texans here who could comment on some of the numbers
on the other documents?

One lists the driver's license as 00043997. Does that seem like a valid number? There is also an MSO number, which is 28427. What's an MSO number?

24. The drivers license has the appropriate amount of numbers
although it it usually written TXDL00043997.
MSO would probably be Midland Sheriff Office.
BUT
If memory serves me correctly, that should be MCSO for Midland County Sheriff Office.
I think this is a fake. FWIW.

27. On the 2nd page
The suit was brought by Midland Hospital District (MHD).
It was probably something along the lines of stealing a prescription pad and trying to write scripts.
This charge of practicing medicine is lesser than fraudently obtaining narcotics or forgery or other charges.

26. Here's a pic of him and his first fiancee, Cathryn
George W. got engaged to Cathryn Lee Wolfman (right) at the age of 20 – the same age his father married. George W. surprised his friends when he returned to Yale after Christmas break his junior year to say he was engaged. The relationship and the engagement ended amicably.

In 1967, young George W. Bush abruptly called off his engagement to Cathryn Lee Wolfman. Friends close to the family blamed this sudden change of heart on Bush family pressure and disapproval of the prospective fiancee's Jewish stepfather. Although representatives from the Bush family later denied antiSemitism, in 1993, Bush as Texas Governor told the Houston Chronicle that he believed there was no place in heaven for anyone who did not accept Jesus Christ as his "personal savior." In 1998, before departing on a high-profile trip to the Middle East, Bush sophomorically joked with U.S. reporters that the first thing he would say to his hosts in Israel would be that they were all "going to hell."
