Can I get a "HELL, YEAH!" for my dad & all who signed! Already 100,000!

I just came back from the hospital.
My dad (the 80 year-old who I'd helped to sign and forward the Conyers' letter) was rushed to the hospital last night with a hemorrhaging blood vessel in his stomach.

He's doing well now, thanks to a few transfusions and a procedure to have the vessel cauterized (thank God).

But what were his first words to me when he woke from the anesthesia?

I swear to you, this is NO LIE.

"I forwarded that Conyers Letter to EVERYONE IN MY ADDRESS BOOK. What's the latest news?"

He will be thrilled when I tell him that we've already reached the initial goal of 100,000 signatures!

So this is for everyone who signed and everyone who spread the word:

edited to add: And thanks to all of you for your best wishes for my dad. After all these months, I can't believe I haven't thought to lead him to DU. But I will definitely show him this page as an example of what a great community this is!

24. reminds me of my dad in hospital (those old guys stay the course)
dad was a CPA and professor of accounting......he was quite ill in the hospital (he died 2 months later)..... although barely able to hold a pen, within 5 minutes he pointed out 4 errors I had made in his and mom's state income tax

30. Yep. Like my parents, definitely the product of his era.
Forged from the hellfires of the depression, WWII and the Civil Rights Movement and coming out the other side with backbones of damascene steel. Nothing, but NOTHING seems to faze them.

Sorry about the loss of your dad. Sounds like I someone I would have been proud to have known.
