So-called Governor of Texas SUCKS Really Bad
Texas is a WEAK-GOVERNOR system, O.K.? The country elected Shrub as "governor" where he had NO power, the LT Governor is the REAL power wielder, O.K.?

Follow the money.

1. Gov Goodhair is not popular with general electorate
In a normal election, Gov. Goodhair would be very vulnerable to a challenge. Kay Baily Hutchinson is going to challenge him in the primary according to rumors. Kay Baily is the most popular politician in Texas according to polls but Gov. Goodhair's strength is with the christian right wing voters. It could be a real nasty fight.

5. Pretty sad that Kay Bailey Hutchinson seems like a good
alternative. Are any Dems even running?? Chris Bell might and he's the guy who filed suit against Tom Delay.

9. Why does that make me think of "Brother, Where Art Thou"
"I'm a Dapper Dan man." I can just picture the Governor in question in a hair net.

12. that'd be a great protest prop. hair nets.
that was a great movie, by the way.

but i'd die laughing to see texans protest gov. goodhair by haunting him with hair nets wherever he goes. wave 'em around, wear them on your head, use them like gloves like 80s madonna fans...

11. Hutchinson is old school Republican
A large block of Texas Republicans are, also.

We are about to see what happens when the christian right wing goes up against the old school conservative.

If nothing else the infighting should be entertaining.

4. Did you see the protest at the church he went to yesterday
to sign his anti-gay-marriage bill? The protestors were GREAT!
They had signs that said 'Separation of church and state', 'tax the churches', 'Stop the American Taliban'. It's backfiring on Mr. Goodhair. He is ranked as the 12th worst governor EVER.

8. Our schools don't have enough money to buy supplies
because he won't fund them. But he spends all his time on the
anti-gay-marriage bill??? Believe me, he won't be reelected.

14. That went Tango Uniform during an unsuccesful special session
...which was supposed to fix school financing and ended up doing nothing. School finance was the big issue for the legislative session that just ended, again in total failure. Voters seem to finally starting to get pissed, so chances are good the Dems can pick up some seats in 2006.

15. Agreed. Just for the record: "Rick Perry is one of the most
disgusting human beings I have ever known," is a great sentiment.

16. Molly Ivins coined the nickname Gov. Goodhair.
My son has met Perry and his main impression was that Perry does have good hair. We could have balanced the state budget on his hair care budget.

Molly Ivins is a great lady
