Hillary goes for the jugular!!!......

"I know it's frustrating for many of you; it's frustrating for me: Why can't the Democrats do more to stop them?" she continued to growing applause and cheers. "I can tell you this: It's very hard to stop people who have no shame about what they're doing. It is very hard to tell people that they are making decisions that will undermine our checks and balances and constitutional system of government who don't care. It is very hard to stop people who have never been acquainted with the truth."

"The press is missing in action, with all due respect," she said. "Where are the investigative reporters today? Why aren't they asking the hard questions? It's shocking when you see how easily they fold in the media today. They don't stand their ground. If they're criticized by the White House, they just fall apart.

"I mean, c'mon, toughen up, guys, it's only our Constitution and country at stake," she said. "Let's get some spine."

This is some good stuff!!!!!

1. Thanks for posting the whole quote...earlier poster only put up
the "hard work" portion, and then criticized her. We've been talking forever about getting somebody to speak up and when they do, some nut here criticizes the one who speaks. Go figure. And go Hillary!

2. good for her--but watch what they do with this
who wants to bet that the "media's" response to Hillary will be to further (try) to eviscerate her for speaking out.

3. Good for Hillary. It looks like Barbara Boxer started a trend
and the Dems one by one are starting to grow a spine and follow her lead. Let's hope this grows and grows.

Go, Hillary! Tell it like it is!

And NO APOLOGIES for telling the truth!!!!

Man, with Hillary and Dean and Boxer out there making waves, maybe some of the spineless ones will get a clue. Is it too much to hope for?

:woohoo:

On edit: Included the greatly deserving Sen. Boxer with the bold truth tellers.

I just want a presidential candidate that's going to kick that republican Nominee in the balls.

Up until that statement, i've been finding her lack luster play it safe politics to be uninspiring

I can say balls because I how oftens does a female Rep actually make it past round 1?

18. That's great.
I agree -- we post here and say how we want people to speak up and when they do, there's a lot of criticism of them. So, I'm just going to add my voice to the "Way to go" camp! Let's keep this up. The fact is -- the Repugs are wrong. They are doing their best to destroy America. I don't know what you could say about them that would be going too far, honestly. Well, okay, I can think of a few things, but they involve goats, cream cheese, and a stack of Nancy Drew books. ;)

21. Is this the same Hillary who said the insurgents were losing?
gimme a break.

Why didn't she 'toughen up' and join the 130 other congresscritters who voted against IWR?

Pure rubbish and rhetoric. Pandering. Makes me want to puke.

On The Blog Now
After months of desperately trying to get in touch with her inner red-stater, Hillary Clinton appeared at the first major fundraiser of her re-election campaign yesterday and offered the 1,000-strong crowd a heaping helping of Democratic red meat, lashing out at Republicans. The trouble was that for all the partisan speechifying, it was almost exclusively empty rhetoric that she was dishing out. Throughout her speech, Hillary adopted the tone of a powerless activist whining about those in power rather than a high-profile member of the World’s Most Exclusive club. The low point came when she blamed much of the Republicans’ success on a too timid press corps.

Of course she’s right about the mainstream media abdicating their investigative role... but, c’mon, it’s not like Senator Clinton and her congressional cohorts are powerless to look into things. In fact, that’s what the constitution says they are there for. It’s called Congressional oversight, HRC... I mean, if you are so worried about the missing $9 billion in Iraq, why not demand that the GOP pals you’ve famously been making in the Senate create a modern Truman Committee and, if they refuse, keep bringing it up every day until they do.

If she did then she will just be another Kerry. Kerry's voting for the war impaired his campaign

27. Make no mistake, I see right through it.
Hillary is rediculously close to being a republican and loves to do something I have observed as, "pandering". I'm not saying others don't do it but Hillary R. Clinton does it in a way which is very extra obvious.

Not more than a few weeks ago she was praising the brother Jerry Falwell clan, until that was no longer popular to do. Now she is chastising them, etc. just to rock up ratings.

If it's any indication, Hillary has always been pretty close to the right. I don't think she was ever "liberal left" or "centrist", because she has some very specific beliefs and no one questions those beliefs.
