Rice and Rummy defending a lie.
It just amazes me the great lengths the White House are putting a spin on this whole thing. They are essentially defending a myth. Ity drives me crazy that the mainstream media are not covering this with as much vigor as Clinton's sexual escapeds but then again, sex really does sell!

I am also happy to see that some Republicans are starting to question this current Bushdoggle like Senator Richard Shelby from Alabama. More of the truth needs to leak out.

1. Why did Bush cite the British?
Edited on Sun Jul-13-03 11:41 PM by gulliver
That's a tough question for them to answer. Apart from the fact that it looks like sneaky, salesy, better-check-the-fine-print BS, there is a large logical problem with it. After all, Bush simply needed to get the CIA to check out and approve the British allegation. That would have made the British intelligence CIA intelligence, and it would have been fair game for the SOTU.

But it seems very clear that the CIA would not vouch for the British intelligence. To me, that's a very serious problem for the Bush/Rice/Rummy argument -- and not the only problem.
