So bernie Sanders considers himself a socialist but I have never heard of him supporting or introducing socialist legislation. Is this guy actually socialist? Does he have achance at the senate seat and if so do you think Sanders in the senate will be good for the Left in America since he is not a Democrat?
Socialists have always supported and advocated all kinds of reform legislation that benefits working class people, promotes and extends democratic rights and extends civil rights for all.
Some laws advocated by socialists such as Social Security were adopted long ago. But, very little significant progressive federal legislation has been won in the past few decades. The last really big things were Medicare and the Voting Rights acts. Not much since.
