Hey, check out this article: This woman is on the warpath against Bush!
Mother of dead soldier vilifies Bush over war

PRESIDENT RIDICULED AT INTERFAITH RALLY

By Frank E. Lockwood

HERALD-LEADER STAFF WRITER

"The president of Gold Star Families for Peace, a mother who lost a son in Iraq, criticized the United States' "illegal and unjust war" yesterday during an interfaith rally in Lexington.

Cindy Sheehan of Vacaville, Calif., accused President Bush of lying to the nation about a war which has consumed tens of billions of dollars and claimed more than 1,700 American lives -- including the life of Army Specialist Casey Austin Sheehan.

<snip>

Sheehan ridiculed Bush for saying that it's "hard work" comforting the widow of a soldier who's been killed in Iraq.

"Hard work is seeing your son's murder on CNN one Sunday evening while you're enjoying the last supper you'll ever truly enjoy again. Hard work is having three military officers come to your house a few hours later to confirm the aforementioned murder of your son, your first-born, your kind and gentle sweet baby. Hard work is burying your child 46 days before his 25th birthday. Hard work is holding your other three children as they lower the body of their big (brother) into the ground. Hard work is not jumping in the grave with him and having the earth cover you both," she said.

Since her son's death, Sheehan has made opposition to the Bush administration a full-time job.

"We're watching you very carefully and we're going to do everything in our power to have you impeached for misleading the American people," she said, quoting a letter she sent to the White House. "Beating a political stake in your black heart will be the fulfillment of my life ... ," she said, as the audience of 200 people cheered."

My comments: She's traveling the country--a tour, it seems from the article is being sponsored by some clergy groups calling the Iraq war "immoral." I know Glenn Hinson---referred to in article--he's great.

4. God bless Cindy Sheehan.
She is a courageous and principled woman who should give us all hope and inspiration. She has survived the worst tragedy anyone can experience and determined to make this country a better, safer place for others' children.

Please visit the Gold Star Families for Peace web site: to see if there is anything we can do to help. Thank you.

2. Thanks for the post, Rateyes....
We need more like her...military moms are especially effective.

BTW, what's your take on the loss of one of the Vikings RB's? Will it have much effect on the offense?

6. Oh, what a wonderful "whiz" he was...
Feel sorry for him, and the Vikes...he's got a problem he needs to work out. He's a good RB, but we still have Bennett and Moe Williams, and Mewelde Moore--three more good RB. If Bennett stays healthy we'll be alright. What I like is that it seems the DEFENSE is beating the OFFENSE in training camp. Watch out, cause you know what kind of offense we'll have, even though Randy is with your team now. Wish we hadn't traded him--but, unlike a dollar bill, you can't get 4 quarters out of Randy!

5. * has grossly miscalculated the lengths a mother
will go to when she loves her son. She will not stop. I can assure you that.

God give her strength!

8. Famous quotes not ever forgotten....
"The United States of Amurika would be alot better off as a dictatorship, just as long as I'm the dictator!" - George W. Bush, 2001.

I guess you failed to account the fact, that your lies and karma would one day catch up to you.

Your time is going to be gone soon, just like all dictators, and un-neccesary removals through-out history.

10. Good for her!!
Now if she can organize a group of grieving mothers the same way the 4 or 5 9/11 widows did, maybe she can take some credit for getting CCB impeached for treason.

Sometimes I wonder just how many Repubs who lost loved ones in Iraq STILL think this war was justified? Just a thought.

16. I've been following Cindy Sheehan for some time...
She lives close to me in the hinterland of Solano County, California. I've been reading stories of her from the very beginning. Amazing, when she first started, she received a lot heat from her own town...you know all the language 'they', the flag wavers, used. Zero support! Wish I could find some of the early stories and vile LTTE we had in the local papers, but sadly, they seem to have fallen into one of those internet memory holes...

I'm happy to report that the local tone has softened a bit, and the message is getting out. But dammnit, not fast or far enough enough for me.

Mothers are a tremendous force that this administration does not want to face. Women will be their undoing.

20. My Concern is That
the Secret Service would pay her a visit.

I :patriot: you Ms Sheehan.

We need to follow this story, and let this woman know that we have her back.

Keep speaking truth. The "better angels" are on your side. There has to be nothing so painful as losing a child. Life's not supposed to happen that way. All of us parents pray to God that we will be the ones to go first.

"I want to run like the lions,
released from the cages,
released from the rages,
Burning in my heart tonight,

I am a Patriot,
and I love my Country,
Because my Country,
Is all I know"
