OTC laws
I am so frustrated. I have a bad cold and needed to buy some cold medicine, I went out first thing this morning and hadn't realized the new laws that went into effect.I couldn't browse the boxes to find what I needed, they only had credit card type labels that you had to take to the pharmacist. The pharmacy wasn't open so I couldn't get any medicine. I went to the other store but they have discontinued certain brands of cold medicine because they didn't have the room in the back to put them all. I finally found a store who had one box of what I needed, and after having to wait for the pharmacist, had to hand over my drivers license and give my name and address , was charged much more than it used to cost. And then I was told that I needed to purchase the major brands, that my brand will no longer be stocked, only the big names will stay.

Is this the price we have to pay for the drug abusers habits? I realize that this is all supposed to be good and take meth off the streets but isn't there a better way? This is incredibly frustrating. I called the maker of the medicine I take and they couldn't believe they had been taken off the shelf. They told me to buy it online. Can I do that? If so , then what is the point?

anyway, just needed to vent. I feel like our freedoms are less and less and the criminals just keep going the crime.

2. Iowa
I live in Iowa..the pharmacist said the laws have passed now and this is the new way to buy cold medicine. I went to walmart, walgreens and hyvee...the only three places in town to buy cold medicine.

3. I really "don't give a damn"
If all the druggies smoke up, shoot up, OD, and leave, I have chronic bronchitis, and a cold/w cough is deadly for me. I will find an herbalist and alternative medicine because the idiot druggies will never learn that there are natural substances growing all over the countryside for free!
They could come to OR and die happy. Mushrooms grow year around here!

4. It's a stupid law
The meth labs will only replace those ingredients with something else. It will do nothing to solve the problem and it will only make it too dificult for many of us to get the OTC cold medicines we need.
