Scary news for Bushists: Americans aren't afraid anymore
On the other hand, it could be scary news for us, considering how important our fear is to the Bushists. :scared:

http://www.salon.com/politics/war_room/index.html

The polls keep bringing bad news for the Republicans, and the new USA Today/CNN/Gallup poll may bring the worst news for the White House yet.

Americans aren't afraid anymore.

The Bush administration has made fear its stock in trade. The White House used fear -- of another 9/11, of a Saddam Hussein with WMDs -- to sell the war in Iraq, and it used fear to get the president re-elected. Remember Dick Cheney's warning about John Kerry? "It's absolutely essential that . . . on November 2nd, we make the right choice, because if we make the wrong choice, then the danger is that we'll get hit again, that we'll be hit in a way that will be devastating from the standpoint of the United States. . . ."

But how do you sell fear when the people aren't buying it? According to Gallup, fewer Americans fear that terrorists will strike in the United States soon than they have at any point since 9/11. Only 35 percent of Gallup's respondents fear such an attack, down from 39 percent in January and from 85 percent in the days after 9/11.

1. Scary for us.
The best way to sell fear is to make sure everyone gets a taste of it.

So they boxed themselves into a corner. If we get attacked again, then definately Americans made the wrong choice!!!!!

5. Puhleeze, they'll do another MIHOP is a NYC minute.
Consistency and logic are NOT the hallmarks of this administration. If another "terrorist" hit will keep the American sheeple scared and compliant, another "terrorist" hit will be cooked up. It is all about keeping the sheeple afraind and compliant.

7. I don't think they care about their own logic.
They just do whatever they believe they can get away with.

3. Time for Cheney to get out the old Rolodex.

FAA, NORAD, Homeland Security, that new Intelligence
director, et cetera, et cetera.

He did it once and got away with it. If they feel
too cornered, bet $$ he'll do it again.

4. The administration that cried "wolf"....
how many times are Americans going to be fooled by these numbskulls? Hopefully, we've finally turned the corner on this "terraist around every corner" mentality. Hey, it worked for his entire first term and just past the '06 election, that's all he wanted. If they're to continue their control of the people, they'll have to come up with yet "another Pearl Harbor" to do it. THAT'S what scares me!

6. Coming Soon: "IRANIAN TERRORIST ATTACK" on America
MIHOP,
kills lots of Blue state voters in the process.

I give it 3 months, with the polls slipping like they are and Bush's threats killing any hope of internal Iranian reform.
