Daley says Durbin should apologize for Guantanamo remarks
http://www.wqad.com/Global/story.asp?S=3502171

Chicago Mayor Richard Daley says Senator Dick Durbin should apologize for comments comparing American interrogators at Guantanamo Bay to Nazis.

Daley says Durbin -- a fellow Democrat -- is a good friend. But he says it's wrong to evoke comparisons to the horrors of the Holocaust or the millions of people killed in Russia under Stalin or in Cambodia under Pol Pot.

And Daley says it's a disgrace to accuse military men and women of such conduct.

Chicago DU'ers - write Daley and tell him to:
1 - Listen to what Durbin said.
2 - Apologize to Durbin then
3 - Shut the Fuck Up!

3. Wow, they just keep showing their true colors....
Daley needs to back off, Durbin is only saying what their actions represent. Not the troops.

4. Pay No Attention To That Daley In The Corner
Most of us in Chicago don't.

Richie's no liberal or progressive...never has been. He speaks for himself...and most times to amuse himself. Very much like his old man that way. We're used to it here.

Richie won't cost Durbin a single vote. If Durbin were to run for re-election today, he'd close to 65% of the vote...he doesn't need Richie.

Also Richie is very close to Denny Hastert. He's Richie's meal ticket to the federal money that the Democrats used to control. Richie knows how to play the game.

6. A nickel's worth of free advice for Richie
Let the Republicans fight their own battles, and defend their own conduct. If they can. No need for you to come running to their rescue; they're supposed to be big boys now.

8. Just because they wear the uniform does NOT excuse them
for abuses, torture, murder. If I was still in the Army and did some horrendous act of violence I would expect to be punished and rather harshly. Did Daley serve?

11. Just like with the Dean brohuha, Dem leaders choose to believe RW Media
and the soundbite feeds instead of refuting the RW Media and standing up for one of their own.

It's disappointing to hear Daley say this.

13. Daley has a son in the Army...
... and has the power to ruin Durbin's career.

All he has to do is withhold Chicago machine support.

Either Durbin will fold, or hang tough and not get re-elected.

Durbin is immensely popular in Illinois. This is a guy who voted against the Iraq War and still got re-elected.

That's not gonna happen - it's wishful thinking on the part of conservatives.

17. Daley AKA Mayor Bush is a piece of shit
He's strictly big business and the working people of Chicago are sick of him. He can take his Millenium Park and shove it right up that ponderous ass of his. He's going down in 2007 if we can just keep the vote counting out of his hands!

What he did to Durbin is unforgivable. Please contact Daley and let him know what a cad he is.
