2. This kid ought to be ashamed of himself.
He should have said it in Klingon--any self-respecting Trekkie/Trekker would have.

5. The kid should sue, it is clearly a first amendment issue!
plus a Federation which obeys the Prime Directive beats oppresive American empire any day.

9. When the Supreme Court ruled against prayer in public schools
In high school I used to leave the room every morning during the "invocation" as a protest against prayer in public schools. Later the Supreme Court upheld my position.

10. Here's my favorite!
I pledge impertinence to the flag-waving
of the unindicted co-conspirators of America
...and to the Republicans, for which I can't stand
One abomination, underhanded fraud, indefensible
with liberty and justice
forget it.

11. Awww, why couldn't I get suspended for singing O' Canada???
Edited on Tue Jun-21-05 10:19 PM by Massacure
This past year I was a high school junior and we had a sub one day who got really pissed when 2/3 the class wouldn't stand for the pledge. She angrily gave a short lecture about patriotism. I wasn't going to let her tell us about patriotism so I blurted out "I'll show you patriotism!" Then I turned my back to the American flag and sang O' Canada. The rest of the class joined me. The sub got even more pissed off and sent me to the principal. So I went and told him what happened and he laughed. My school always recites the pledge at noon, so lunch was about to start. He let me go 30 seconds or so early and I was the first person in line. :D

Damn liberal principal!!!
