Anyone see Mel Martinez (R-Fl) NIMBY dance on Cspan about offshore

drilling in Florida? Don't get me wrong, I would generally be against it too, however it just smacked of utter hypocrisy and NIMBYism that this repub was sitting there talking about "what if an oil spill happened off the coast of Pensacola" or "what about if a hurricane hits??" He obviously doesn't care to much about these issues about the offshore drilling in other states, such as a close neighbor Louisiana.

It reminded me of a recent local rw talk show nutjob decrying the possibility of a new Walmart supercenter next to his subdivision. HOW CAN ONE NOT SEE THE UTTER HYPOCRISY OF THESE MORONS!!!!

I'm a Florida resident and complete against off-shore drilling. I believe his opposition (for once) represents the feelings of most other Florida residents. However, I'm not a resident of Alaska, but I'm very much against drilling in ANWR, which he supported. Why is it okay there and not here?
