when the presidents term is up how long will it take
when he is out of office how long would it take a new president to fix things? overturn rediculous new laws that he made? if a good democrat gets in would it be possible to get rid of some of this crap like the patriot act or will the current president's laws just have residual effects for years after he is gone with the new president having no power over them?

1. We have to have a Democratic house majority

and at least 52 Democratic Senators, although 60 would be best.
Actual change and rolling back of all of the horrible * legislation would probably take a couple of years.

7. Can't the new prez do a few things by Executive Order on Day 1?
Didn't Bush sign away federal funding for foreign health clinics for the poor if they provided birth control? Shit like that?

8. i think you might be right - clinton stuff
I think there were a few clinton era laws/policies that bush got rid of in his first month in office, just can't remember. this could provide some hope.
