WASHINGTON The White House says its decision to send more food aid to North Korea has nothing to do with efforts to try to get Pyongyang to end its nuclear weapons program.

The aid was announced yesterday and could include seeds and small tools. The State Department says the objective is to help the North Korean people, despite concerns about the communist nation's policies.
At the same time, the U-S envoy in charge of the U-S nuclear negotiation effort says he's "more than willing" to meet North Korean leader Kim Jong Il. Kim hints the North might return to international disarmament talks as soon as next month if the communist nation gets proper respect from Washington.
North and South Korea are continuing their one-on-one reconciliation talks, hashing out details of military contacts and family reunions across their Cold War border.

I thought the GOP didn't negotiate with tyrants, other then themselves of course. I guess they just don't understand.
