Sign at Clark Headquarters, "Nam Vets, need not apply"

I spoke to someone in the Clark staff tonight who told me my assistance was not wanted, “Because Nam Vets are too unstable“. I’m talking about Vets working from anything from answering phones , opening letters, to offering advice to the General. I know of many Veterans who have been turned away because they are Vets. I was told by the Little Rock office “No Veterans Allowed”. I was told to “Contact your local Clark supporters to volunteer,” yet they had no names to give to us to talk to about volunteering.

I think Clark is being mislead by political hacks who profited from the “Draft Clark” campaigns.

If they were TRUE followers, they would be working for free, as Veterans have volunteered to do.

Something isn't right here. Why is Clark's staff keeping Grunts away from being volunteers? Vets are going crazy over Clark as a candidate and will vote for him. We know he is being touted as the Veteran candidate.

If it is important enough to bring up his Nam Background, then why are Nam Vets being told to stay away from the Clark race by his staff?

I know of over 100 Veterans that have been told to go away by the Clark staff. What's going on here?

Someone please tell me of a Viet Nam Vet who is on Clark's staff.

Your accusation rings more than a little hollow. Clark won't turn away fellow Vietnam vets unless they exhibit some personal mannerisms that may cause more than a little alarm. So, tell us all about how you introduced yourself.

We know Clark would never turn away Nam Vets. We are complaining about his staff, who turned us away.

They contacted our group of volunteers. When it was discovered we were Nam Vets, we were asked to not contact the staff in any way. To go away, never call the headquarters.

It's not Clark we are upset with, it's the people who are controlling everything in the campaign. We begged to work as volunteers. We were turned away.

We want to volunteer to work for him. We don't want paychecks like the campaign hacks that have taken over the Democratic process.

We wanted to support a Nam Vet, when Kerry didn't show at the forum our tickets were yanked.

We never smeared Kerry, only questioned the reasons Vet were not given the tickets we were promised.

How's the 'Veterans Against Clark' movement going? Last I heard, you had offices in all 50 states and were in the process of filing for your charter as a non-profit corporation. I would have thought that, with that project on your plate, you'd be too busy to volunteer for the very same campaign you have been agitating against for months now.

this cant be true, or there must be some sort of misunderstanding or something. There is NO way that a major candidate would turn away vets, especially one running on his military record. They might as well say "Old people" or "blacks" need not apply.

mods- you KNOW I am right. I work for the Democratic party, and I have NEVER heard such NONSENSE in my life- we have several vets in our own local organization- no one would EVER say to a volunteer that that "Vets are unstable"- you are a (edied per rules) and you know it...
