The biggest problem with GOP propaganda:
is that so much of the country is SO RECEPTIVE to this message of war and greed.

It means that too many Americans are too fat and happy in their suburbs.

If you are living in the street, messages about gay marriage and fomenting war against some distant country that hasn't done anything to you will not have resonance, and will not be well received.

If you are unable to get health insurance, or are severely underinsured, these same messages will lead you to say, "WTF are the priorities of THESE mofos? They sure aren't mine!"

So while it's true that Rove has implemented his Goebbels-esque propaganda machine with great success, he wouldn't have half the success he's had if so many Americans didn't WANT to hear these messages. They are "down with it".

1. It's always the same old story ...
People don't care until it affects them personally. :eyes:

3. It's worse than that
People don't even care when it DOES affect them. Hell, most would feed grandma dogfood and sacrifice their children to the god of consumerism and war before they'd even consider releasing their death grip on this here TV remote control.

What's for dinner honey? Honey?

2. You got that right-- it's really tragic that they're so heedless over...
what's really going on.

Probably think if it's not on TV or on the front page of
the paper, it ain't news.

I don't know-- I can't relate to their obliviousness.

4. These communities are now seeing the missing kids
in their neighborhoods, the ones who died in Iraq. It's starting to have an impact in my community. I think this will wake them up.
