A modest proposal for T. Friedman
He wonders why we workers in the western industrialized world don't just accept the competition of workers in Asia and start working long hours for slave wages.

Tom seems to think has he this whole globalization thing pegged.
Let's try this: There are many well educated, english speaking people in India who probably have as good or better understanding of Globalization than Tom.
I bet they would love to write for the Times for a tenth of what they pay Mr. Friedman, and do more than two columns a week. So if Tom wants to keep working for the NYT, maybe he should just take the same pay and workload as his foreign competitors.
