Bush’s not so secret deal with 9/11 attackers
Democrats reacted furiously on Thursday to remarks by White House adviser Karl Rove suggesting that Democrats had responded to the 9/11 attacks by wanting to "prepare indictments and offer therapy," with some calling for him to apologize or resign.

Why get upset over prodding from these macho wanabees? Haven’t we heard this kind of bluster from Republicans in the past? Doesn’t anyone remember Reagan’s macho declaration that he would never deal with terrorists? He played the macho part until his secret arms for hostages dealings with Iran were revealed. Then he played the pitiful forgetful old man.

Bush plays the macho role for domestic consumption but true to form he follows up with the typical secret backroom deal to buy his way out of trouble. It is the Republican way.

Saudi Arabians attacked the U.S. Lets be perfectly clear about this. Fifteen of the nineteen attackers were Saudi nationals. They hated us for setting our infidel boots on their sacred soil. Osama Bin Laden is a Saudi. Al Quaeda are Saudis. The Saudis hate us because we support the royal family who serves U.S. interests and not those of the Saudi people. The Saudi royal family needs the support of the U.S. because without it their people would overthrow them.

So what did macho man Bush do when confronted with a murderous attack from the angry Saudis?

Bush COMPLIED with the demands of Bin Laden and the Saudi royal family by removing the American infidels from the Saudi holy land. Bush APPEASED the Saudis by removing all U.S. forces from Saudi Arabia for the sake of Saudi stability. Despite all of the macho bluster he projected to hide this fact, Bush CONCEDED, COMPLIED with the demands of, and RETREATED from the attackers of the World Trade Center. He then invaded Iraq because he thought it would be easier to maintain U.S. bases there than in Saudi Arabia. The Middle East presence of the U.S. was planned for in what he dreamed would be an easily defeated Iraq.

That was not a response he could brag about. Nor was it smart.

Democrats should not respond to the Rove attack defensively nor by trying to prove their own macho. The Rove attack should be seen as the continuation of the bluster intended to hide their own errors and concessions to enemies of their own creation. Let the truth be known and watch them flail. The Bush regime is in its final throes.

1. and, don't forget
When North Korea was blustering about their nuclear arsenal over the past few years, Bush last year announced plans to withdraw our troops from South Korea - something North Korea has wanted for 50 years.

3. We still have personnel on military bases in S.A.
Though you are right about the reasons why we scaled back our personnel, we are still there.

7. Removing Saudi's next door secular neighbor ,Saddam, was a gift too.
And, of course, taking Iraqi oil off the market has helped to increase the price.

With that kind of retribution, will anyone be surprised if they hit us again?

9. You are one to something.
Bush seems to be doing everything Osama wants.

Osama wanted the US bogged down in a war of attrition. Bush complied.

12. The proper context in which to view this BushCo behavior...
...is that of Grover Norquist's scheme to build an alliance of Christian Fundamentalists and American Muslims on the basis of shared hatreds: of women's rights, abortion, the Bill of Rights etc. In this context (I will post three vital links below) all of these contradictions become far more damning: not hypocrisy at all, but rather deftly conspiratorial policies in furtherance of the imposition of theocracy on America. Here are the links:

On the Fundamentalist/Muslim alliance itself:

15.  Bush says they hate our freedoms....
Then he tries to take them away from us with the Patrot Act.

Fearful little man Bush thinks they may not attack again if we have fewer freedoms.

Another concession to Osama.

...And it wasn't the Saudis.

16. Bush has everything to gain by looking macho while...
making unpublicized concessions to the Royal Family to keep oil flowing.

Macho wins elections in a fearful nation. You didn't miss that in 2002 and 2004, did you?

17. He gave $43 million to Taliban in May of 2001, knowing full well
that's where OBL was in Afghanistan. At the time he was wanted for the attacks on our embassies and the USS Cole.

I know that's old news to most people here, but it still amazes me that the SOB never gets gets called on this shit.

19. Preparing indictments and investigating would have been appropriate
carpet bombing a country who had nothing to do with 9-11 was not. BushCo just knows those indictments would have been for them.
