1. Is this a normal? I thought Captain's Mast was the precursor of
drumming someone out. Making them take a general. Or am I misreading it.

3. Captains Mast= Kangaroo Court.
Can you be more specific on what your "charges" were. Usually punishment for CM is Non judicial punishment <extra duty,money etc.> and not very serious. What did you do?
