Our recruitment is down, the terrorists' recruitment is up.
This president has an evil gift for uniting enemies and dividing friends, whether around the globe or in the Congress. It seems to me that this is the very opposite of good leadership.

3. A kid I know just did a DELAYED ENLISTMENT, I need info
He is still a High School Sr. this year. A delayed enlistement is what he has done. Parents are distraught. (He is 18, so they did not have to be consulted.) Somehow at first he will, supposedly go to a college campus, after high school. But my guess is soon after that is the 'oh by the way, after this semester, we need you in boot camp.'

Does anyone have info or links to delayed enlistment programs for the army? How does it work? CAN HE STILL REVERSE HIS DECISION before he is done with high school? He is woefully misinformed and relying on the lying recruiters for all his "information".

Please reply here or better send me private messages.

Thanks for any help.

5. This is what I was told, it may have changed since 91

But I was DE too. Signed up during my senior year. What happened was that I took an oath and did some paperwork the first time I went to the MEPS while in HS.

There I got my date for Basic and went on to graduate HS.

When my date came, I was sent back to MEPS, took the oath again and more paperwork.

I had a buddy, who was an officer, tell me that it was the 2nd one that counts. He wanted me to go Reserves instead of RA so before I went to the MEPS the 2nd time to goto basic, tried to tell me to call them and tell them I changed my mind and then just sign up again for Reserves. I wanted to go RA so I didn't do any of this.

From what he was saying is that the option was still open until I took that second oath and final paperwork.

Like I said, this is back in 91 so it may have changed by now. He may still have the option to "opt out."
