Funny LTTE in my local paper (re: Schiavo)
"I don't feel secure with Terri Schiavo's autopsy ("Damage to Schiavo's brain was irreversible," June 16). This is my letter to those who would push it on us.

Supposedly, the brain weighed 615 grams and should have been twice as big? Ridiculous! Would it ever occur to those going on and on that a dehydrated brain would weigh less? Who is stupid here – the ones who did the analysis or those who accept it without question? Or both! Did they reconstitute the brain? And, no, they wouldn't reconstitute it out of duty or common sense because they didn't want to! That is obvious!

I knew beforehand what the outcome of the autopsy of the Terri Schiavo case would be. I knew that they would fake their deductions to go with Michael Schiavo. It was a repeat of the trial. That trial used the judges' doctors to explain what he wanted to hear instead of allowing the advocacy method. I can't believe people are so naïve as to buy the conclusion without question."

Speaking of having a dehydrated brain?

Yes, because Michael Shiavo has at his disposal the Army, Air Force, FBI, CIA and millions of dollars to bribe doctors - not Jeb Bush and the Senate Republicans that tried to make this a political issue. My goodness what some people will let themselves believe these days!

edited because I suck at typing

4. Gotta love those medical definitions from NON-physicians...
Yes, all the physicians who testified that Terri was blind and was irreversibly brain damaged are lying to cover for Michael Schiavo.

6. Wow.
It's no surprise that none of these people ever say, "I asked my doctor about the autopsy and he said..."

Because a doctor would then explain to them that a person is LONG dead before they lose half their water... and for the loss of water to represent a 50% loss in brain weight, one would have to lose far more than 50%.

Morons.

You should consult a physician and send the explanation to the editor so we can put this to rest once and for all.

8. People sell
their integrity all the time. And sometimes for amazingly cheap!

So how much dough did Michael Shiavo have on hand to pay the coroner to fiddle the results? How much on the other hand is the coroner under financial or political pressure from the other side?

It looks like your writer is just sore that the results came out the way they did and the coroner did not cave in.

What happened to that poor woman was awful. But these idiots don't really seem to care about that.
