Help me reconcile Bush's not being concerned with Osama with Roves comment
Edited on Sun Jun-26-05 03:40 PM by mzmolly
about Republicans being ready for war after 911?

http://www.truthout.org/docs_04/101504W.shtml

Rove's comments:

'Conservatives saw the savagery of 9/11 in the attacks and prepared for war; liberals saw the savagery of the 9/11 attacks and wanted to prepare indictments and offer therapy and understanding for our attackers.'

Bush's comments:

"Six months after he said Osama bin Laden must be caught dead or alive, this president was asked, 'Where's Osama bin Laden?' " ... "Bush said, 'I don't know. I don't really think about him very much. I'm not that concerned.'...."

Bush's original comment came while U.S. forces in Afghanistan were searching for the Al Qaeda leader, who had eluded joint American-Afghan military operations designed to find him.

"...And, again, I don't know where he is," Bush said during the 2002 news conference. "I'll repeat what I said. I truly am not that concerned about him.

Now correct me if I'm wrong, but I could swear Osama is supposed to be that guy who was behind 911?:freak:

1. Most difficult to reconcile irreconcilable statements, policies, actions,
and antics of this administration, especially when their rhetoric and actions seemingly often diametrically opposed. Maybe it's just me, maybe I don't understand talking in tongues.

2. Ok....I'll help you
George W. Bush doesn't give a rat's ass about Osama bin Laden or what happened on 9/11, except when it helps his politically.

Days after 9/11, George Bush said he wanted Osama dead or alive. Even Pickles thought that was over the top, and came up to him in the White House and said "Bushie you gonna git him?" (reported in Newsweek magazine)

Many months later, he says he doesn't know or care where Osama is. And when confronted with this during the presidential debate last year, he lied and said "Gosh I don't think I've ever said that."

So the only way you can reconcile what Karl Rove said, with Bush's comments on Osama, is to realize that neither one of them gives a sh&t about Osama.

5. oh c'mon MzMolly!
Quit being so reality-based!;-) That's like sooo 1999! Rove's statements don't have to be consistent--his only criteria is that what he says must be hate-filled.

7. Shrub has repeatedly lied about a lot of things and
it has been proven that he lied, yet millions still voted for him. Go figure.

9. I think many regret their ignorance.
We can only hope they actually learn.
