Moved recently to a red state -- Bush/Cheney bumperstickers burn me up.
Why are they still on so many cars? A silent nah-nah-nahnahnah? Or, since this is a blue town in a red state, a way to say to our loser majority that: I have a swell car, as you can see, am not poor, am cul-de-saced away from minorities, am probably holier than thou, and am a winner!

Today I'd just Fed-Exed something here for the first time, and behind the counter were pictures of, I assume, the proprietor, with Chimp. He was talking with a customer about cul-de-sacs, second homes, gardeners, "controlling" who lives near you (although the customer, who used the word, said, "I guess you shouldn't use the word 'control'"). So I was thinking about whether to go next time to a more distant Fed Ex, to avoid paying my money with these pictures directly in my view, and maybe avoiding similar conversation, when I began seeing these bumperstickers again.

Thought about making a sign to put in the back window of my car: Hey Bush/Cheneys! Educated affluent church-going family on board this expensive car, smart enough to have voted for KERRY/EDWARDS.

Tempted to add, So eff you -- but that probably wouldn't be prudent.

I've noticed many Republicans keep their bumper stickers on forever
I noticed this back in the Clinton years as well.

12. I don't see them that much either
I live in Tennessee on the east side which is pretty conservative. I still see the W and Bush/Cheney stickers but not like I used to. During the election I saw a lot of Kerry and anti-Bush stickers too.

but I think it wouldn't be prudent.

Some asshole near me has a sticker that says "Thank me - I voted for Bush"
I wanna hurl every time I see him. :puke:

5. You need to contact FedEX home offices about that!
Complain to them that a racist is running a store and openly planning segregation tactics as a representative of FedEX.

CC: to your local media outlets to get them to make follow up calls.

This kind of shit works, you can bring down the bigots.

6. Oh and by the way, feel free to put anti-bush, pro-Democrats
stickers on your car. If it's anything like here (the suburbs of Dallas) no one will say a thing. I've only had ONE dirty look in all this time, that's it.

The back of my car has "Bush lies, people die, how many lies can YOU take?" and "I'd give up my tax cut for the life of a fallen soldier" and "Hate is not a family value."

People definitely read them and point them out to others in their vehicle, and I have gotten several thumbs up, but never even a middle finger.

19. I've only had one bad look
Edited on Mon Jun-27-05 07:19 PM by FreedomAngel82
It was around the election and I was at my school. The school parking lot gets really full so my Mom just drops me off since we live a few minutes away and stuff. On the back of my car I had a Kerry/Edwards sticker and I was getting out of my car and this guy gave me an evil look but I just gave it back like "buzz off."

20. And that's exactly what you should do.
Give as good as you get.

Or really throw them off and smile and wave. That pisses them off, because they wonder if maybe you didn't see the dirty look. I did that to the one guy who gave me a dirty look: gave him a HUGE smile and a very enthusiastic wave. He looked confused.

10. I'd love to know which state you moved to.
I lived 42 years in Pa, and relocated to SC in 1987. WHAT A SHOCKER! Things got worse and I was transferred to TX in 1992 and I worked there until 1998. TX really is another country!

In 1998, I returned to PA to care for my mother who was 88, and when she passed away in 2000, we moved to GA because our youngest son lives in Ga and we had the opportunity to transfer here and still have a job.

Life really is different in the states that we lived in v/s PA. After all these years, I still have a hard time understanding most of the folks in the south.

Just to make sure the idiots in their gas guzzlers see my little Prius and read MY stickers - "Peace is Patriotic", "What Would Jesus Bomb?", Celebrate Diversity" and "Peace and Love are Moral Values"

Am about to add "What part of 'Thou Shalt Not Kill Don't You Understand?' God"

It always feels good!

15. Welcome to the real world.
If more people in San Fran and NY came out here, they would realize why Democrats have a hard time winning. Maybe they wouldn't blame Kerry for "losing to the worst President in history" when they see that said President has many, many supporters.

You can easily identify the idiots and greedy frauds who cannot think for themselves, and you can remind them of who they supported when the shit hits the fan.

Easier to figure out who the fascist warmongers are.

I live in the bible belt now, so I put on a sticker that says 'Blessed Are the Peacemakers'.

25. I still see a lot of those around here, though lately I've noticed
a few more cars with Dem bumperstickers. And yes, it still makes me puke. Even worse than the Bush stickers are the "Protect Marriage" stickers that the good churchgoin' folk still have on their cars (after 70% of our state voted to ban gay marriage a few months ago). :puke:
