Media Matters office evacuated today
by blonde moment
Mon Jun 27th, 2005 at 19:32:07 PDT

I have a great friend who works at Media Matters here in DC. He called tonight to tell me that they received an envelope full of powder and they had to empty out the office for a couple of hours.

He said the FBI turned up to check it out, and eventually they got the all-clear. Right about the same time, their server crashed. (It seems to be back now.)

My friend commented that they seem to have pissed somebody off!

"White Powder Treatments" for those who won't goose-step with the BFEE.

4. They are still down.
I haven't been able to get on their site all day. It looked like a DOS attack from my end. A powder scare coupled with a hack attack would require an interesting amount of coordination. I can't imagine who could be responsible for such a thing.

Can you?

5. Not that ole trick!
:freak: Well, at least they haven't come up with some creepy trick that is more repulsive than this one.

Thanks MM and sorry you have to be put through this.

6. Envelope full of powder at the same time as the computer crash
Sounds like it was a big fish that has their panties in a bunch, seems to be a warning.

7. David Brock must be doing something right.
He's pissing off all the right people, anyway.

What a bunch of scared, cowardly wussies the conservatives are--this is how they fight, I guess.

10. They're all probably pissed
He used to be one of them remember. I'm sure someone is targeting this group. Seems like it. Remember Tom Daschle?

9. Think how strange the perp must be.

Assuming it's just some lone right-wing idiot, of course.

This person would despise the "Islamo-Fascists", yeah? Probably supports the farcical "War on Terror" with a fanatic's zeal. And yet, how does he respond to his own domestic political opponents? Terrorism. His first instinct is to mimic the people he despises.

They're some really sick people.

These happenings always suggest the worst....

Unfortunately, women's clinics have been experiencing these attacks for years and years and years.

Sorry to sound so mundane, but first they came after the women, then they came after the 'homos,' now they're coming after all of the above and anyone else who qualifies as 'liberal.'

"Liberals" are anyone who isn't a radical rightist.

edit: not to forgot about how they came after 'those people' with their 'welfare reform' frenzy.
