Spy Reports an Issue in Bolton Nomination

WHORE OF THE DAY: KATHERINE SHRADER, Associated Press Writer

Thousands of times a year, spy agencies provide government officials with the names of Americans who appear in intelligence reports. John R. Bolton made only 10 such requests.

Bolton's requests for the information were a fraction less than 3 percent of those made by the State Department.

1. It's not the amount, Katherine, it's who he requested and what he did
with that information.

I can imagine her article on the BTK guy:

"Why are we so upset about the BTK suspect? Tens of thousands of people are murdered every year in the United States, and he only murdered 10, representing less than 1/100 of 1% of all folks murdered during his killing spree."
