FLASH"The only way we can fail is if we forget the lesson of September 11"
Edited on Tue Jun-28-05 03:46 PM by Bluebear
Actual excerpt from speech tonight per Dana Bash, CNN. "Clearly linking Iraq to 9/11."

UPDATE

Bush: Bloodshed in Iraq Is 'Worth It'

"Like most Americans, I see the images of violence and bloodshed. Every picture is horrifying and the suffering is real," Bush said, according to excerpts released ahead of time by the White House. "It is worth it."

"The work in Iraq is difficult and dangerous," the president said. "We have more work to do and there will be tough moments that test America's resolve. ... The American people do not falter under threat, and we will not allow our future to be determined by car bombers and assassins."

1. Unbelievable
Their craven souls know no bounds.

Unbelievable.

What's worse is that there are people who will nod and agree.

12. I think it's pretty common
The talking heads can wrap their heads around the content ahead of time and see how they can spin it.

7. Which lesson is that?
When a bunch of crazed Saudis based in Afghanistan attack you, invade another Muslim country that had nothing to do with it? That IS a valuable lesson, indeed.

Bush has no other issue to lean on than the greatest failure that occurred during his presidency. Utterly pathetic.

11. Blame liberals...that is what this means
I'm going to keep saying this tonight: he is going to blame our failures in Iraq on Democrats and liberals. Trust me, the only way he can gain support is to demonize us....the flag burning Amendment falls right into line with this idea.

Really now...he might be stupid, but they aren;t THAT stupid. The only thing they are good at is manipulating the press and the opinions of the American public. Blaming us and starting a withc hunt against us is his last defense.

Don't underestimate them.

13. indeed... and technically what he says doesn't matter...
this speech is just to give the talking heads something to base more lies upon

this is "catapulting the propaganda" so to speak

14. Dead meat
If this is the best he can do then it's all over. There is no way that the public will buy this. It will probably take the media 6 months to realize that no one is listening to Bush any more, but this speech will not change the way people are feeling about Iraq.

as president. That's the only lesson of 9/11.

18. The "lesson of Sept 11"...
MIHOP, lie and blame it on a group of "evil-doer" brown people who are really your business partners and then preemptively attack a country full of unrelated brown people so as to make rich white people richer with stolen American taxpayer money.

20. The WH is calling the speech tonight an address on the War on Terror,
not Iraq. Blurring the lines is the plan tonight.

"It's been obvious, but now it's 150% certain. The new strategy is

criticism of iraq=criticism of afghanistan=support for taliban=support for al qaeda = cheering on crashing twin towers.

They said the WH asked the Networks for time tonight to "steady the public's nerve".
