Iraq is where the terrorists are making their stand. Um… I thought that’s why we invaded Iraq: because the terrorists would there and deposing Hussein would stop them? Of course, any historian or sociologist would have predicted this, but since we’re run by greedy, single-minded retards, our leaders didn’t exactly get the warning.

It’s our responsibility to complete “the mission?” What is the mission? We have no goal, no exit strategy for Iraq. Fighting terrorism is a laudable longterm goal, but it’s vague and can never be completely accomplished. Let’s see some actual planning, maybe. Some criteria with which we can leave Iraq. A lack of exit strategy was one of the things that hurt us in ‘Nam.

More polite applause as he finishes. Even as they stand for the “proper” ovation, it’s the slow cascading rise of troops who don’t give much of a shit about what he said.
