It's good that he called on people to enlist. Seriously.
I've been saying all along that one of the biggest dishonesties in an enterprise fraught with dishonesty is the failure to call upon anyone to enlist, all the while comparing the Iraq invasion with WW II and the like.

So this is the first time, to my knowledge, he has actually mentioned that people should enlist, albeit without mentioning the severe recruiting shortfalls.

It's an immediate talking point for us. It points out the hypocrisy of most RWers, even though they won't care or acknowledge it. It's out there on the table. It can be pointed out how none of fearless leader's own family or those of his cronies are joining up.

Contrasting this call for enlistment with the tumbleweeds at the recruiting office will call even more attention to the fraudulent nature of the adventure, and the fact that the support is only as thick as a yellow ribbon magnet.

If people DO enlist in any significant numbers as a result of this, especially as fearless leader's friends and family stay safely in their mansions and nightclubs, this country is in far worse shape than even I think it is.

12. Yes, I especially liked that part where he mentioned that his daughters
Edited on Tue Jun-28-05 09:39 PM by tinfoilinfor2005
were enlisting tomorrow and would be shipped to Iraq in six weeks. What a parent he is to make that sacrifice. No, I'm sure I heard him say that. It only SOUNDED like, "Thanks for the sacrifice of YOUR kids."

4. He has not called on anyone to do anything except go along.
No giving up driving, no saving stamps, no enlisting, just support the troops and go about your fun and business, same as usual. Rather odd for being at war. Oh yes, don't protest because We are Protecting you from the Evil Doers.

13. It wasn't exactly a clarion call for people to enlist, either.
And to those watching tonight who are considering a military career,(translation: certainly none of my friends or family) there is no higher calling than service in our armed forces.

6. Agreed.
I hope his supporters will listen to him and enlist to do what they can to help out in this dreadful situation they've created.

8. Also with failing to "mention" how
many are dying everyday in Iraq.

I'm glad the chimp asked for enlistments, too. It begs to relate how the whole thing started on LIES, LIES, & MORE LIES!

10. Somehow I don't think that the Chimp Twins will enlist...
I also don't see the wealthy Elites kids enlisting. Instead, they'll sit back and make their money off of this war. The rich profit while the poor sacrifice.
