Observation from Brian Jones
OK, so I was at a flea market on Sunday, and found a couple of copies of Flip magazine, a mid-60s teenage girl/rock mag (lots of things about Mark Lindsay, the heartthrob from Paul Revere & the Raiders). I was browsing through them, and found an interview with Brian Jones. They asked him about Vietnam and he said, "It's probably full of poor Texans", referring to the US troops.
Isn't it nice to know that his observation from 40 years ago regarding the socioeconomic (and geographic) make up of the American military hasn't changed at all between Vietnam and Iraq...? And we all know which Texan (rich, not poor) didn't go to Vietnam.
