chimp used a teleprompter, so why was he flipping pages
Edited on Wed Jun-29-05 01:41 AM by The_Casual_Observer
that he NEVER looked down at? He flipped the pages back and forth several times. It was as if he wanted us to believe he was consulting special notes or something.

1. "I have here, in my hand, a list of names...."
Oldest trick in the book.

2. I noticed that also.
No idea. But the book of pages he had in front of him was probably five times as long as his speech?

3. Most speakers do that....
it's not a big deal.

Every President I've seen brings his speech with him to the State of the Union, for example, even when reading it off a teleprompter.

Sometimes teleprompters fail. It's good to have a paper copy.

7. God help him if he needed to use them, he was flipping them this way and
that nervously, it was almost worthy of a drinking game.

9. LOL...
I didn't see the speech. Listened to it on the radio. It woulda been funny to see him find him place.

13. remember when Clinton's prompter failed?
I think it was at a State Of The Union speech. And apparently he didn't have any notes. But he ad-libbed masterfully. I wonder what would happen if dim son encountered a similar situation?

14. Clinton had more than two active
brain cells to rub together. But yeah, it'd be quite fun to see Bush try to recover.

4. Chimps like to fling stuff and play with OTHER stuff
so in order to keep his hands busy and out of his trousers, they had him turn pages.

5. To give himself time. Also he showed us so much more profile than
normal. I'm thinking Rove was trying to "rebrand" since we all hate his smirk straight on. IMHO

6. Appearance over substance. That's everything with bush & RWers.
Always, always always.

Remember bush talking about US jobs, with boxes stamped "Made in America" behind him? The boxes from China that busheviks had pasted "made in America" stickers over top?

Jessica "Bambo" Lynch?

Saddam Statue Toppling?

Saddam "spidey-hole"?

"Mission Accomplished"?

"democratic elections"?

ALl fake, all appearance over substance. It's what republicans are, and they fail at even that.

12. Yup - turns out nobody likes his profile either. Someone explain to
Rove that it is something on the 'inside' that makes us hate him so much. Aaah...er... by inside I mean feeling things and thinking things. um....an inner life that we recognize as dangerous and inadequate.

10. I always thought that page-turning thing...
Made him look like a preacher at his pulpit reciting wisdom from a Bible.

Makes him feel like that, I'm sure.

And of course, he has The Bible memorized, no need to look down.

16. HE WANTS PEOPLE TO BELIEVE HE CAN READ! ( Not sarcasm, it's a FACT!)
This is NOT news!

His mommy (Mrs. 41; aka "Bar") spoke publicly YEARS ago about how she was using "flash cards" to help 'W' learn to read when he was a TEENAGER!

THE BOY CAN'T READ!

It's a FACT!

17. If that were the case then he should have looked down at the pages
Edited on Wed Jun-29-05 02:22 AM by The_Casual_Observer
at least once. He frantically pushed a random fist full of papers back and forth, never looking down. It was a transparent act of a fool.

20. So he's also a BAD actor. No surprise.
A 'LITERATE' person would glance down at the pages he was turning,
just from HABIT.
A 'LITERATE' person would be hard-pressed to NOT look...

ONLY a person who NEVER reads could do what we saw * do tonight.

19. you know, i noticed that ...
when they were playing snippets of his speech on the late news tonight. Maybe he was nervous that he was surronded by a bunch of people whom he is putting in harms way, maybe he was afraid some of them rangers and special forces guys were going to make a purse outta his hide.

Did you catch the SS agents protecting Shrub (one for each side) from HIS OWN military? Now that's something to be proud of, right? :sarcasm:

peace.
