Listening to a local commentator on the radio on the war...
...basically saying that it's more important to stay the course in Iraq because if we did anything else, it would make the US look wishy-washy in the eyes of the world.

I felt like calling him up and telling him to drive down a road with a bridge that was out and take the same attitude.

1. It's Pavlovian
I'm hearing every cliche in the book on hate radio. "Stay the course", "no quarter", "if we don't beat 'em there, they're coming over here (as if they haven't already...duh)", "we have to support our troop", "it's (no clue what it is) worth it". All these are drummed in and always come out as the first reactions of being thrown on the defensive. These days that means just having to face reality.

These people are dumbed down and continue to dumb down issues...totally unable to debate when you throw real facts, since that requires critical thinking (a threat to their paychecks) and it's easier to stay simplistic and fearful than complex and enlightened.
