How can they say that the war in Iraq has no connection to 9/11? Isn't that what this is all about??

I just don't understand people. I don't like war and I surely don't like our young men and women being IN war, but after 9/11 everyone was yelling "DO SOMETHING". Then when he DOES it, everyone is yelling "STOP". What do people want?

Either we can stand up and defend our country or we can sit down and wait for them to bomb another city, but we can't do both.

1. What a stupid bitch of a woman....
Just get her a clue, please. It's time to wake up to all these damned lies. We could have started a war in Tora Bora, or sent forces into Saudi Arabia and destroyed Al Quaeda.

No instead we have to be thrown into Iraq because Saddom Hussein is Bush's rival. What a pile of shit. :puke:

3. I know people who believe Iraq was behind 9/11
No amount of arguing will have them believing otherwise. Facts are irrelevant to them. It's just an irrational feeling they have in their gut. It's so frustrating.

4. If Oprah did an hour on
"911 and Iraq are not connected" and Regis and Kelly had a guest on who made the forceful case that "911 and Iraq are not connected" and the American Idols sang a song called "Iraq and 9ll are not connected" and People Magazine did a cover story shouting "Brad knows something you probably don't...911 and Iraq are not connected!" maybe, just maybe, America would start to get a clue.

9. OK, Let's put her in a bikini and make sure
she has a hose in her hand - something similar to the Carls. Jr. scenario. Only this ad will be a public service message, and as she points her backside at the camera, written across her thong will be "Now that I have your attention. Did you know 911 and Iraq are not connected?"

15. Hey maybe a skit like that on SNL could actually be put
together for this weekend, sounds like a comedy skit and it would get some air play, anyone have any idea how to get that done?

12. It's simulatneously disheartening and infuriating
to listen to people who think like that, isn't it? They do not even realize they have selective listening when it comes to Bush etal.

The "fight them over there" is the cognitive dissonance. If they only thought about it a little, they would realize that what we now have is a US Taxpayer funded Terrorist Training Base! The 'foreign insurgents' come in across porous borders, get some first-hand experience with our troops and methods, then move on...to parts unknown. There is no way to track these people!

To think terrorists cannot strike us on our shores because "we took the fight to the terrorists" is simply naive.

7. Well...supPOSEdly, in the mind of Bush
Edited on Wed Jun-29-05 09:43 AM by Norquist Nemesis
and the rest of the Party Loyal there was a connection. So, if it's good enough for the Leader, then it's good enough for them!

One of the things you have to give credit for with these people (Bush and his circle) is that the repition works. The misleading statements, snippets of reality, and focus tested slogans are marketing in action for political manipulation. And that, I believe, is morally wrong. Manipulating the people you govern is wrong from its very core.

So, how do they still see a connection? Well, say for example Bush made a statement that the sky is purple. Some Americans would look at the sky and think...Huh??? Another portion would think, I know my President wouldn't lie to me. Still another would say, I need to go and have a look--depending on the time of day, they may or may not see purple. Then the media shows a picture of the sky with a beautiful sunrise showing purples, pinks, reds, etc....but the purple is there! Hopefully, a responsible media would be informative and state that the sky is blue 48% of the day, black 48% of the day, and the remaining 2% (depending on atmospheric conditions) is a rainbow of other colors, including purple.

Within only a few short days of 9/11, "is Saddam responsible in any way?" idea was tossed into the public subconscious. The final, definitive answer (which Bush himself stated there was no connection between Saddam and 9/11) was brief; and the march to invasion was already in the planning. It's hard to stop a train, and why do it when you can jump on the engine, shout 'full steam ahead' then claim you took control of the situation? (I know, not the best analogy, but hopefully it gets the point across.)

edit to add:

Someone should give this lady a map. She has conveniently forgotten all about Afghanistan. That was the "DO SOMETHING!" that we diverted resources from and the action that we had worldwide support in doing.

14. I guess the bu$h** zombies missed the part where
Commander Cuckoo Bananas 'himself stated there was no connection between Saddam and 9/11". And he keeps trying to morph Osama (ain't) Bin (looking for him) and Saddam/Sept 11th, seems it's working just fine. :banghead: What a devious shithead bu$h**.

16. They may or may not have
But when questioned about it by the media, Bush etal immediately sidesteps and repeats the "Iraq is the central battlefield for the War on Terror. After September the 11th..." instead of acknowledging that is what he said.

To acknowledge it would serve to reinforce there was no connection. And THAT is something they can ill afford at this stage of the game.

18. What's really sad is only in America did ppl think Iraq = 911.
The rest of the world always knew Iraq had nothing whatsoever to do with the 911 attacks or al Qaeda. Funny how Americans never noticed Tony Blair never used/uses "Iraq = 911 = al Qaeda".

To be seen as so completely ignorant, totally STUPID, by the entire world is bloody EMBARRASSING.
