I guess it wasn't clear. The woman who sent the email around bragging about how she is going to Italy and learning Italian is a freeper. She advertised just how dumb she is by closing her email with "chow".

They hate it when we correct their spelling and grammar. I think it's a great technique. They change the subject by calling us names so it's only fair that we change the subject by correcting their poor writing skills. Plus we are giving them useful information, and not just being hateful.

I resist the temptation to edit e-mails most of the time. Thankfully, a lot of correspondance is from other writers. But every once in a while I get an e-mail that makes me reach for that red pen.

On message boards it's considered rude to correct spelling, but GAWD it's hard not to correct some of the more stupid posters just to mess with them.
