One more repug comes out in support of crime
My state(WI) repug senator just made the press for sending a letter to a federal judge in support of a convicted felon.

"State Sen. Dave Zien (R-Eau Claire) describes himself as "pro-God, pro-family, pro-flag, pro-gun, pro-guts, pro-fun, pro-USA."

Is the law-and-order assistant majority leader of the Wisconsin Senate also pro-Outlaws?

Using letterhead identifying him as a senator and as head of the Republican Caucus, a position he held at the time, Zien in February wrote a presentencing letter to U.S. District Judge Lynn Adelman praising his "friend," Thomas E. "Woody" Sienkowski, the former leader of the Milwaukee Outlaws who last year pleaded guilty to a single count of racketeering."

<snip>

"Adelman, who served in the Senate with Zien, eventually sentenced Sienkowski to a 10-year prison term, a result of a sprawling investigation that linked Sienkowski to Outlaws murder conspiracies, firebombings, and cocaine and marijuana trafficking."

Lucky ME! I mean that both sarcastically and seriously in that now he may have finally crossed a line that will help my local dems get rid of him.

I'm still digesting it, trying to figure out what to do with it. My first thought was letters to the editor condemning it. I hadn't thought about getting a copy of it. I'm getting right on it. Someone at my state party office should know how to get it.

Thanks :toast:

on edit: aaaaaaaaah, post 666. Kismet. I love it.

In truth, he is the sickest kind of republican, not in an evil sort of way but sneaky. He runs around slapping everyone on the back like they're his best buds and then goes to Madison and puts the screws to 'em. Got 60% of the voters in my whole district absolutely bamboozled and no matter how hard we dems try, it seems nigh impossible to convince them otherwise. I think this time he has handed us to start pounding nails into his political coffin.

on edit: spelling pet peeve
