Republicans forget, dissent is American
Republicans forget, dissent is American
By Sandi Siefker, Rock Island

I found this quote by the descendant of Paul Revere very interesting, and very contrary to the Republican attitude of Bush supporters:

"It was very risky of him (Paul Revere) to belong to a secret society that plotted to overthrow the English. Now, when someone criticizes the government, I don't view them as unpatriotic. The Founding Fathers' spirit is alive in each protest."

1. I feel very much akin to
those early Americans and I think they would be proud of us.

2. I would have to agree with Nite Owl.
We were better off then in terms of our freedoms than we are now.

4. I have to agree with you Indepat
They know the history of this country and the Constitution as well as we do. Seems very much a plan.

I find it odd that the author of the article didn't even mention Revere's grandaughter's first name or her location. It would be interesting to know she lived in Boston. Now, I'm wondering if the quote is legit. Anybody know?

5. Of course, after 8 years of clinton bashing I'm surprised they pulled the
dissent-is-unpatriotic card.

Fuckin' freaks. x(
