It is about the media and a run away prosecutor.

The Judge is the worst person in the world.

There is no proof any laws were broken.

There should never be any Independent Prosecutors.

Plame was never a covert agent.

blah, blah, blah.

Arrrggghh.

2. And the reporters were protecting a "whistleblower".
They don't actually say this but it is linked the same way that 911 and Iraq were linked.

8. The media love to promote themselves, interview themselves,
etc. It just so happens that this story is about members of the media (and SO much more, but this will do for now). They're going to help bring down some people in the * administration in so doing.

It's perfect!

Also, the polling shows that most Americans are not happy about the Iraq war now, so they may feel safe in addressing the Plame matter. It's all about the ratings and $$$.

with Anderson Cooper. Unfortunately, he's on vacation but the sub did a decent job with it. They played the freedom of the press card but still highlighted the fact that it was a crime to out Plame.

13. It gets people thinking about it.
And more and more people will talk about it at work. People will discuss it with friends and family. And they will make up their own minds soon, and there are going to conect the DSM and the terrible destruction in Iraq wth it.

While there was a significant amount of baloney and misinformation on the tv this evening (and will be in the morning newspapers), the seeds have been planted. The public is seeing this as another Watergate. The administration is discredited. And the public is hardly viewing it in the Chicken Little terms the media is.

6. Reporters might loose their sources!! blah blah
What a freaking joke.. what sources? Nothing big ever happens they just throw it down the memory hole. You don't need sources to pull off the AP wire or read a talking point memo.. our reporting is a joke.

9. This time I really think it will backfire
I have no connection for corporate news other than the internet this week, and I don't miss it. This time they won't be able to cover it up imho. The best thing that can happen to them is they can be exposed for the shills they are.

This is way to big to be spun at this point. Thy will try, but there is too much background, too much evidence and a few true patriots in the press. Remember in Wateregate Ben Bradley was a courageous man. It took a long time for other outlets to jump on board. DU and the Blogs are helping keep truth in the air and I think the apologists are sounding tinny.

11. OMG, I had cable TV and the newspaper only last weekend and I so
would have given all of those up just to have access to the Internet.

When you have to rely on the news channels and papers that are outdated by the time they are printed, you feel so lost.

15. let them bitch
they're not doing the investigation in high crimes, Fitzgerald is. Just because one of their own is doing time for covering up a criminal act doesn't bother me one bit.
