Fox News round-up on the London bombings
Let's start at the "top" shall we?

During Fox News' coverage of the July 7 London bombings, Washington managing editor Brit Humetold host Shepard Smith that his "first thought," when he "heard there had been this attack" and saw the low futures market, was "Hmmm, time to buy." Smith had asked Hume to comment on the lack of a negative U.S. stock market reaction to the London attacks.

Hannity Tries To Spin London Attacks As Proof Of Bush's Wisdom
http://www.newshounds.us/2005/07/08/hannity_tries_to_spin_london_attacks_as_proof_of_bushs_wisdom.php#more

-Check out how Wesley Clark handled this-

Hannity: Isn't this the fact, though, General... that what we witnessed here was pure evil, what we saw on 9/11 was pure evil and doesn't (sic) events like this actually prove that the president is actually right inasmuch as we knew Saddam used chemical weapons and biological weapons against his own people? We knew he wouldn't abide by the cease fire agreement or the UN resolutions. The French told us he had 'em, John Kerry told us he had these weapons. And Bill Clinton did - that we can't take a chance that those weapons with people like him get in the hands of people that commit acts like today?

No Apology from Gibson for Wishing Attack
http://www.newshounds.us/2005/07/07/no_apology_from_gibson_for_wishing_attack.php#more
After wishing a terrorist attack on another European city just yesterday, you might think John Gibson would apologize Thursday (July 7, 2005) when terrorists did strike in London. That would have been the right thing to do.

Of course, Gibson didn't do it.

In his "My Word" segment from yesterday's show, Gibson said he wished Paris would have gotten the 2012 Olympics because it would have been a treat to watch them deal with terrorist threats.

FOX News Military Analyst: U. S. Should Hack into Arab Banks, Steal Their Money and Call It Biblical Justice
http://www.newshounds.us/2005/07/08/fox_news_military_analyst_u_s_should_hack_into_arab_banks_steal_their_money_and_call_it_biblical_justice.php#more
HUNT: ... This operation in London took six months to a year, thousands of dollars, passports, logistic cells and you have to get at that money. I mean by that is - the Bank of Saudi Arabia, the Bank of Yemen. If you've got money, we're taking it and redistributing it. I'm talkin' about Biblical Justice to stop this.

And of course

Fox News' Brian Kilmeade: London terror attack near G8 summit "works to ... Western world's advantage, for people to experience something like this together"

15. Turn if Off. They're Not Worthy to Watch.
If you enjoy hearing Colmes, he's on XM Radio nightly now. Channel 167 AirAmerica from 9 or 10:00 PM to midnight, EST.

24. I actually can't tolerate any of the MSM networks any more...
Faux News is blatantly biased, but the rest have simply cancelled the news. Yeah, I listen to Randi and everybody on AirAmerica (Colmes is too wimpy for me though).

Anybody listen to Alex Bennett, on Sirius Left? What a crock. The other day I heard him saying over and over that Bushitler won in '04, and that he doesn't like liberals. WTF? Does Sirius have a clue?

25. Hey, we are listening to the same things!
Randi... she's on vacation right now and I sincerely miss her, but her replaced yesterday did a great job w/that FReeper caller.

I could be wrong on this, but it appears that XM Radio is what AirAmerica can be heard on more so, and Sirius had less to choice from on the Independent/Democratic side.

Colmes seems like an awfully good person and maybe he just hangs-in there for the 'cause.

2. These people are scum.
Terrible, terrible, scum. I write regularly on the evils of our, British, RW media; these people make them look like angels. This is the Der Sturmer of television. I cannot believe or understand the depraved evil of some Americans. (Just as I cannot believe or understand the depraved evil of some Brits - but in the US these bastards have the whip hand.)

7. indeed
We in Europe are getting of easy compared to America .Fox news is ,...and i'm picking my words ever so carefully here ...a bunch of zealots that would make the communist party blush
Reason 1..their entire attitude isn't one of journalism , it's one of getting their point across...
Reason 2..their point arises from some esteem problem or mental disfunction as it's obvious such a deep and dark hatred must come from some place
Reason 3..If they could they would show public hangings of people who stroke the wrong way
Reason 4..their voices are eerie and dark , it's a slight coarseness in the texture that makes the agression and filth so abominal
Reason 5..they have yet to speak one word of sincere truth in their history
Reason 6..they are never ever ever ever wrong

17. Flying fuck of a dumb inbred bastard .
It's a good thing i spend half my time in the US , otherwise i would almost start fearing for it all .It's just so sad to see this happening to america , it used to be i secretly liked it more than i did my homelands (grass is always greener...).But now it has that dirty nauseating smell of hatred spread by the likes of gibson .

I recall one time , I had just flown into Washington Dulles from Mexico City and i was buying a newspaper , having a chat with a nice fellow .A pakistani american , in french , which seemed to irritate a bystander so much he felt the need to interupt .He looked at us and said you're in america now ,we speak american .Both of us having a kick and a giggle , he looked at us so vile and angry ,before walking away. Now this happens in Europe too , but it's never seen in the media , or noted as acceptable by anyone .What worries me is the generation that is going to grow up messing their lives up because they believe vile fretting will help them in any way

That said , out of the so many interactions with americans , almost all of them are benevolent .It is amazing , but the american people ,the ones who have that undefinable human spirit ,are it's greatest resource .You can never quite put your finger on it , but it's always nice to be back .

E.G. The nice welcomes you get ,...it really is nice .

18. Old Paul Rodriguez joke from the 80's
He said he was in an elevator with a bunch of Japanese business men all speaking in Japanese. As the doors opened to his floor he stepped off and turned around and said, "This is America dammit! Speak Spanish!!!"

It is amazing what people fall for in this country.

19. hehe
thanks God and all the others, we have Jon Steward to broadcast american satirical genius around ze globe .

He's done more for the american image abroad than all the state departments initiatives combined .Well him and micheal moore .And maybe Sen conyers , and Sen kennedy , and the nice people of the New yorker ,the independent film industry, the people at the intl Herlad Tribune , and most of the american academics , ....and how could i forget , the blogs who don't run on 100% frustration regarding being a cracker ...and homer .

You'ld be surprised how few people dislike america ....I might even venture , reading some of the conservative blogs , and having lived in three continents , of which america is one .That the anti-american sentiment is stronger in some of the evangelical communities than it is in most of europe .

16. Watching MSNBC Yesterday, it was like they were foaming at the mouth
when mentioning stocks, etc. This was past bad timing, and way out of the bounds of humane timing.

I'm not above apologizing to Englanders for this scum and scum is right, Taxloss.

9. Hannity is really reaching here.
This is the least convincing and coherent I have heard him sound to date:

"Hannity: Isn't this the fact, though, General... that what we witnessed here was pure evil, what we saw on 9/11 was pure evil and doesn't (sic) events like this actually prove that the president is actually right inasmuch as we knew Saddam used chemical weapons and biological weapons against his own people? And Bill Clinton did - that we can't take a chance that those weapons with people like him get in the hands of people that commit acts like today?"

One: "...and doesn't events like this..."
You'd think he would try to speak proper English while on the air.

Two: "...the president is actually right inasmuch as we knew Saddam used chemical weapons and biological weapons against his own people?"
What the hell does Saddam have to do with what happened yesterday? Don't you think, HANNITY, that if Saddam had so much to do with the terrorists that his capture would have prevented the bombings?

Three: Why the hell is he turning this into an argument about WMD? For everyone who said we shouldn't politicize this, I'm not trying to insult anyone, but look at this! WE haven't politicized anything, they have. This is why we must fight back!

10. AS coordinated as they are the noise machine and W are totally off
The White House has been running away from mentioning WMD for a while now choosing to focus on a hippiedippie "Bad Man! Save the innocents!" argument but Hannity and his kind keep bringing it up

W dropped a Constitutional amendment on gay marriage like a hot rock as soon as the election was over (he brought it back up when talking to a fundie convention) but Hannity and his kind keep bringing it up

W just the day before ackowledged Global warming and sort of admitted that it was mostly manmade-this after lengthy diatribes about how ridiculous their faithbased $cience tells them global warming is.

14. Gibson, Hume, Kilmeade & Hunt Might Just Get What They Wish For
"Biblical Justice" that is. They truly make me ill.

This is at the lowest level of commentary, and on a station that calls itself "fair and balanced." Since Ted Turner stated the other week Fox is a mouthpiece for *, what's that say. Words can not describe this.

"Gibson said he wished Paris would have gotten the 2012 Olympics because it would have been a treat to watch them deal with terrorist threats."

This is why I never watch this station and never will.

Even MSNBC, while chattering about bombing in London in-between repeated mentions of the stocks and Wall Street. I'm down to only 2-3 networks now, C-SPAN, CNN (lightly) & LinkTV. When they're gone, Directv will lose another one.

Personally, I'm getting to know "books" again and couldn't feel better.

I was there when Algerian terrorists were blowing up the Metro. the French have very tight security.

But Fox is just so...disgusting. :puke:

they have much the same attitudes toward foreigners as the Germans in the 1930s.

There were no WMD in Iraq! There were no Clark "quotes" in the piece, but from what the poster said he said, he didn't say this and what he did say was almost as convoluted as Hannity's line of shit. I'm disappointed.
